I know we're months away from the start of the season, but this is a question that has been popping up in my mind since Papa & I had a conversation about it during the Regional Tournament. It was during the Harrison County/Campbell County semifinal game & I said to Papa something along the lines of, "We're seeing the two best players for 2014-15 go at it in this one." I was referring to Dre Jackson & D.J. Jenkins. But then the more I watched Matt Wilson, the more I found myself wanting to place him at the top of the 2014-15 list. I believe an argument can be made for all three, but I don't see an argument for any other player at this point.

So what say you? Is it Dre Jackson? D.J. Jenkins? Matt Wilson? Or am I wrong and is there someone else who belongs at the top?

Shortly after the season was over, I decided Wilson would be my guy, but there isn't much distance between him and the other two. The 10th had some solid big men last year, but several of them have graduated (the Brossart boys, Shawn Johnson, Cisero, Jones, Blanton). I think that really opens the door for Wilson to have his way for the next couple of years. I love how he can dominate in a variety of ways, whether it's scoring, rebounding, or blocking shots.

Good call on Wilson, lack if big men will help him shine even more this year. Also love the play of Jenkins. Can be selfish at times, but very effective.

My other player would be Austin Crawford. Small school scorer. His PPG will shock some people this year. He will be the go to guy and Bracken does not play the toughest of schedules. Kid is only a soph. Love his game.

Jenkins is deadly in the open floor.

Crawford was the #2 scorer in the 10th last year behind Bach, averaging 23.6 a game as a freshman. He's a treat to watch & I love his game, but I would place him on a tier below Jackson, Jenkins, & Wilson. At least at this point I would.

Great topic RP. :thumb:. Now is this determined by individual performance or thier contributions to the overall team success? While i dont disagree with eithier of those 3 young men being top player, they do have a good supporting cast behind them as a team to go a long way.

I look for Dorian Henery to have a breakout season at Mason County for example. Is he the best in the region? Time will tell.

I also have to give some consideration to my polar bear Austin Crawford. Although team success with the new coach in place is still uncertain at this point he cant be left out of the discussion as top 10 or maybe top 5.

GRC and MoCo always produce great players. Good enough to be best in the region?

I guess i will take the field in this poll. :lol2: :thumb:

The way I answer the question is like this: If you're drafting players from the 10th Region to play for you, and you only get this team for one year, who do you pick if you have the first pick?

Shewwww Weeee. If you put it that way then im leaning twards Jenkins. Explosive to the rim and can pull up from 20'. Kid had a ton of fight and desire and i like his overall game ever so slightly over Jackson. I will take the big man in 15/16 when hes a junior. :lol2:

You don't have that choice because you're getting fired after the first year. :lol2:

I just love the fact we are having this discussion on June 24...... Its gonna be a fun and exciting yr thats for sure.

If I'm building a team, then I have to go with the player I would have the longest. I know, you said only one year with a team. lol

I would add King to the 3 you mentioned. From what I saw last year I would go with the following order for the top 4.

1. Wilson

2. Jenkins

3. King

4. Jackson

King & Henry would round out my top five as of right now. I'm not sure which order I'd put those two, but they are my next two. I see King as less talented than the other four, but #1 in terms of the intensity & effort with which he plays. Henry seems to be the one player who could improve the most from last year to this simply because he'll be the focal point of the Mason County offense. He's tough to handle down low.

I go Crawford & Schneider at 6-7, probably in that order. Numbers 8-10 are much harder to determine IMO.

Doesn't Paris have a couple of returning starters that should be in the mix? What about Dawson Cooper from Robertson County? The Robertson County games that I saw last season he was the best player or two on the floor

Koebe Garrard of Paris would definitely be in that 8-10 group for me, as is Trenton Thompson. Cooper probably rounds out the list.

Wilson, Jackson, Jenkins, Henry, King, Crawford, Schneider, Garrard, Thompson, Cooper. That's probably my top ten. Ohmer & Snapp are really close though.

Jenkins

Wilson

Jackson

Crawford

Henry

Schneider

King

Garrard

Thompson

Cooper
