I am sure Clyde knows the Conner kids, but that was a good Highlands team. I believe the line up was something like this:

 

 

1st base: John Sebastian

2nd Base: Tim Nickle

SS: Mike Vories

3rd Base: Kevin Siple

Catcher: Dan Sullivan

Outfield: Louie Lee was one I think - the other 2 are escaping me.

 

2 of the top pitchers were Brian Rogg (just a soph I believe) and Dave Malone

 

Dave Malone pitched the 1st and 2nd games of the region that year... what a difference 35 years makes. Don't think KHSAA had innings restrictions back in the day....

A HUGE congrats to Conner for a job well done!! Great bunch of young men that worked very hard. Just goes to prove: rankings don't mean squat at the end of the day, however; heart and wiliness to win prevails. And they did it with class. Great job Conner!! Go get'em in state!! Make us proud!! WooHoo!!

I heard that last night. Tim was a really good high school pitcher. Could still be the best pure shooter ever at Conner.

Conner is a scrappy team and they made the plays when it counted. I wish the Cougars luck in their quest for a State Championship
