I think Westbrook hurts OKC more than he helps. He's too selfish.

 

Disagree. Kevin Love even tweeted that Russ is one of the top 5 players in the league. I think Russ gets too much blame when OKC fails. Not one mention of KD slipping and falling and turning it over nor is there mention of KD missing a good look from 3 to take the lead for OKC.

I think the problem lies in the dynamic. No one has ever said Russ sucks or that he isn't a top 10 player. I think the biggest thing is the fit with KD. When you're playing with the best scorer in the league but yet try to out score him or out shoot him every night and you are the POINT GUARD that may not produce the results they are looking for (although they may have 3 of the leagues top 25 players and strong supporting staff). It is basically a KD/Russ vs. 5 basketball game in terms of offense, if they are not both killing it night in night out they lose.

 

 

I think Westbrook is a great player and as one of the leagues best athletes can be a force and among the elite. However, I just like him better on another team. Best example I could think of is maybe a Rondo/Russ swap. I would love Westbrook on a team like the Celtics who have some athletes like Jeff Green. I think they could build something there and Westbrook could be the man, his scoring mentality as a PG would be more helpful than detrimental. On the flip side I think Rondo would make the Thunder better by making sure the whole team was involved and by getting guys looks, especially Durant. They would obviously need another perimeter shooter of course but I think I like that dynamic much better.

True. My beef is that their offense sucks and more often than not they stand around watching Russ dribble and then he has to do something with 4 seconds left on the shot clock. It all starts with the coach.

Rondo would be an even worse fit for OKC IMO. OKC lacks scoring outside of Durant and Westbrook. Without Russell or at least another PG that actually scores, OKC wouldn't be that potent at all. Durant would have to average 50 a game in the playoffs.

KD is the least of their problems. I'll admit, I don't like the way Westbrook plays. I am not a fan at all. Seems like a punk. I like KD.

I fail to see how that would make them better. Harden is vastly overrated IMO, he plays no defense. Rondo has failed to prove that he can flourish without playing with three hall of famers. I like both players but I'm not passing on one of the top 5-6 players in the league to have two top 15-20 guys.

With all due respect I would bet everything I own that Harden, Durant, and even Ibaka are 10x better than the version of the big 3 that played with Rondo. I mean they were on their last go around, these guys are all just entering their prime.

 

Don't let the KD and OKC hate cloud your judgement, no way that the Boston big 3 was better than those three at this point in their careers. If Rondo could have that type of success with them I see no reason why that wouldn't be an even more successful OKC team. Durant is better than Pierce, Harden can do more than Allen at this point in their careers although Allen is the better 3 point shooter. Only win they really have is KG and Ibaka isn't far enough behind to give the edge to Pierce, Ray Ray, and KG.
