Back in the dark ages when I was tossed from a game, I had to leave the playing field........along with my coach.

 

And also, lots of "chattering" then, don't remember it getting too malicious, just part of the game. If you paid too much attention to it, you weren't "in the game".

Great game. Both teams looked really good defensively and the pitchers were in complete cruise control pretty much all game. Have to feel for Boone's pitcher to lose by hitting a guy, having a routine grounder to third booted, and then a texas leaguer to fall in between a few guys for the win. Hats off to both teams. Good luck to the Red Colonels tonight!

Good win for the Colonels. Tough loss for the Rebels. Great game to watch. How about that frosh shortstop for Boone. He can flat play! Pretty tough to play ss and hit lead off as a frosh in that district but he excelled all year. Hats of to him as he made some nice plays last night! Great kid too!!

I've got to question the "no doubles" defense that Boone deployed in the 7th inning. No one on Dixie's team had hit the ball hard ALL EVENING. Dixie probably 30 batters in the game with a few ground ball base hits and a couple of legit singles. Nothing was close to going to the wall. With 2 outs, Boone was giving Dixie a tie game on a single and possibly the win on a long single (but they would prevent the double)......

 

You rode your horse (Ganns) and he performed very well. Why not count on him doing the same thing that he had done with the first 30 batters?

 

Congrats to Dixie and Coach Maxwell. They were positive, patient, and aggressive. Paid off in the end.

Agree, the Boone SS was fantastic. I also thought the Boone catcher had a great game behind the plate as well.

I'm pretty sure of Ethan Harrison's favorite place to play. That's 2 walk-offs in the Regional Tourney for the Junior (he had the game winner last year in the first round against NCC).

King hit 88 twice from my recollection.

 

The scoreboard showed Ganns hitting 91 once and I think King got to around 86.

There is NO WAY you don't play no doubles. As hard as he throws, it wouldn't have taken much to get over an outfielders head. It only takes one guy to square up on one. It's baseball and a tough way to lose, but it happens and won't be the last time you will see something like that in this great game of baseball.

My thought exactly...there wasn't a ball hit over anyones head all night. If you lose on a hard shot so be it, not on a blooper because your outfield is backed up deeper than normal.
