Hoop Dreams Orange won this morning and advanced to the final 4 to face Karolina Diamonds

Hoop Dreams 16's was the last Kentucky 16's team still alive but they went down this morning. Beat Florida Tarheels last night in Sweet Sixteen then lost this morning in Elite Eight to the Georgia Stars.

Hoop Dreams Orange just best Karolina Diamonds by 20 to advance to championship game. Hagen Tyler with 19 points . Justin Miller dominated inside from what I was told

Through pool play, 16U results that I'm aware of:

 

KY Elite 3-0

TBC Elite 1-2

Team Manimal 0-3 (same pool as Hoop Dreams)

Hoop Dreams 3-0

 

Anyone know how the KY Heat have done?

Yeah, that is surprising. But that was a very strong pool. The St Louis Eagles team (in their pool) was a 15U team, but a top 5 (nationally) 15's team with a top 5 rated 2017 player that I believe dropped around 30 on them. Was told they didn't have anyone that could contain him. To give you an idea of how good they are, that team made it to the final four today and got knocked out via a 4 point loss to All Ohio Red.

 

Coach Stallworth seemed to catch lightning in a bottle with that team last year. He took a bunch of kids that weren't playing with any "big name" programs and got them to play hard, disciplined team ball. Watching them this year, they just don't look like the same team. It seems they don't have that chip any more and the chemistry just isn't like it was last year. IMO, it's not too late for them to get it back together though.

I'm not sure about Manimal, but I expect them to add someone soon who will change things.

The addition is a good player, no question. It'll certainly be interesting to see how that impacts chemistry.....

The Diamonds are a good 16U team... I assume big man from Scott County does not play with them anymore.. Otherwise they don't have any big men and just play a fast game.

Talk coming back home from people in Atlanta was that tension within Manimal was very obvious. I would venture to say any new addition will destroy any chemistry they have left .

There's no tension I assure you just honestly had a bad a weekend it happens. Lost a little toughness to them but the addition they will be adding will send shock waves. Those kids win because they are tough and went away from that this weekend on top of the worst shooting performance they had in two years. Pi spoke with coach stallworth and he is not disgruntled at all with his team, but just have to get back to the toughness which If anyone knows his mentality they will. I look for a good showing at Adidas invitational
