I simply don't respect anything about Fairview anymore. Isn't the superintendent who was as crooked as the rest of them and was supposed to step down now back as he rescinded his resignation? Or was thy the AD? Either way they are as crooked as they come and for a team to cheat like they have been and not winning anything kind of makes them a laughing stock to some.

 

Yes, the super is still there, Bill Musick. I think Musick was the ring leader in all the wrong doings, with Garry being a close second. You will now see who the "true" Fairview fans are, I suspect times will be tough.

That's what I thought. As long as he is there and the parents allow him to stay then that alone tells me the fans not only condone the cheating but encourage it. Fairview is a slap in the face to all the schools in the state that do things the right way.

The parents dont condone nor do they want Musick there ! Parents showed up strong at a board meeting wanting him gone , but the board voted 3-1 to let him stay . Trust me nobody from westwood is happy one red bit .....get your facts straight before you label people

Fairview will miss the coaching staff.. Fred Ray good position coach but not a head coach but we shall see in due time. Wish the kids the best of luck this season but I have a feeling Fairview will fall back to being mediocre again like so many of the Westwood people want. Talon you have no idea what class means to be posting about the last regime when you don't know them, if you do post your name.

FHS was clear for spring peactices , & a KHSAA rep was there for the 1st practice . FHS was not allowed to have any football activity until spring practice . We were allowed to have 3 weeks of spring ppractices.

Hellbird, all of the "questionable" dealings by that school started years before. I believe that it was around 02' or 03' when the WVA and Ohio pipeline to west Ashland started with Chris Jennings out of Huntington, WVA. They have brought in several through the years since. Yes, it was the retired to unretired (after things settled-school was out) superintendent that brought the first wave in and continued until last season. This same one owns rental homes in their district and some of the players lived/stayed most of the time, from what I understand low rent if any and utilities paid.

How that school board rescinded the resignation is beyond after the football program debacle, very low academic testing plus that (removing resignation, re hiring was first reported to be a violation of the KY. Stateme, School Admin..

Anyway, looks like business as usual, all normal in that West Ashland community, the entire area of NEKY and beyond knows about them and what / why they are doing it, just laughs, shakes their head and goes on.

 

BTW....Good luck to coach McPeek in GA., he is a very good football coach. I only faulted him with knowing what was going on, Certainly not the scheming, planning and bringing in kids from Ohio, WVA and providing for. All that was in progress before he became coach.

Regardless of they have kids from West Virginia or Ohio, it's still football. There will still be a game. This year, Fairview will be Fairview. They'll be a decent if not good team. Heck, they may be great. I'm not sure. But the sanctions have happened. I say let them have their spring practices. A new coach and a new team, I'm kind of curious to see what happens. But we all can't forget that I can't root for Fairview. Especially when October 17th rolls around. Always a good game between the Rams and Eagles.

LR...You spoke far too highly of the school in west Ashland. You stated that you couldn't root for them, especially when vs. Raceland. I cannot, will not and flat out refuse to pull for them vs, anyone. To further explain, as if needed, is that if the freakn' Taliban/N. Korea came here to play the West Ashland scool I would root for Taliban. :lol2:

Hellbird..First of all, they accomplished their goal - they beat Raceland 3 times in a row. Then last season, with them already claiming a state title and still the out/state roster Raceland won by 3 d's..

They are not just the laughing stock of some. That school has long, long been a laughing stock of our6 area of NEKY bc the people here knew them, knew full well what was going on. Now, most of if not the entire tri state area we live in knows due to the (OH., WVA) kids being transported in along with, since they got caught up in it last season now the entire state knows them. (and trust me, what they were penalized for was a small fraction of what was, possibly still is going on at Westwood.

Sportsmanship goes a long way oldrambler! Lol. You know, you're absolutely right. I was a little too nice lol. I would never root for them, you're right. But I just like to bring that one game up because, well, I will forever and always want Raceland to win, even when I'm laying in the ground. Raceland>>>>>West Ashland.

Who is South Greenup? Not that I take offense to it, but Fairview and Ashland shouldn't share the same name. I know they border Ashlands school district, but so do a couple of other schools.

South Greenup County would be Oldtown, but I assume he meant Eastern Greenup County, which would be Russell, but again, I assume he meant Raceland. Geography is a female dog.

I enjoy geography, which is why I asked.. I don't know of any schools in southern greenup county, Raceland and Russell are both on the river, so they would obviously be in the northern part of the county. But then again I didn't know there was a school in west Ashland
