Interested too see what they do have returning??

All that I have been told about this team for 2014 is from a person that was as close as one could be to the all of the issues there last season. I was told " if you or anyone thinks that things will be done any different just because some people left, different jobs, I can tell you nothing will be any different".

Anyone reading, listening that was around last season will know what I am talking about and was at least told that it was business as usual in Westwood. I don't know, we will have to see and as the old saying goes...that's all that I will say about that.

Fairview has a very classy coach now , & a very good coaching staff. Fairview's new offense is going to be very interesting to say the least . The offense is extremely fast paced , & will be about 60% to 70% pass , & 30% to 40% run . While the kids has been adabting very quickly to this new offense i expect to see a learning curve this season. I predict Fairview will go probably 5-5 , or 6-4 this season .

In my above post i typed "adabting" , but was meant to be "adapting" . I've tried to fix it , but it wont allow me . My apologies

Until Musick retires, there will always be questions concerning the legitimacy of the program.

Along with a couple of others that are no secret but that is their deal. Reflects on them, the school and no one else.

i'm still scratching my head on how Musick gets to stay , but football at FHS will not be what it has been . Fairview's new coach is way too classy , & will not put up with the nonsense . Fairview doesn't have any major transfers , nor is any on the way that im aware of , & i'm pretty darn close to the program . Fairview although has lost a few good players because , lets just say the community "reversed" the pipeline .

Sounds like Fairview is doing a complete 180, going away from the boring ground and pound and moving to a passing attack, that could be exciting. What about the defense? I'm guessing with the new coach and new systems, that the spring was crazy.

During spring practices FHS focused more on offense than defense, so not completely sure what kind of defense FHS will run . But i will tell you this , the offense will be exciting to watch , & players had a pretty smooth transition in learning the new offense . During spring practices Coach Ray would time the offense when running plays . The clock started from time the ball was spotted until the ended , in 1 minute 12 plays were ran . This was consistent. Coach Ray has also been instilling a strict , & disciplined atmosphere amongst the players , which is refreshing to see

Should be an interesting season. Did Fairview end up losing very many players after the dust settled?

Fairview will miss the coaching staff. If you ask any of the players you can see it in their expressions and faces how much coach Nate McPeek meant to them. I wish him well in GA and it will be good for him to get away from the narrow minded people in this area. To be honest Fairview was nothing before and they won't be anymore. Fred Ray good position coach but not a head coach but we shall see in due time. Wish the kids the best of luck this season but I have a feeling Fairview will fall back to being mediocre again like so many of the Westwood people want. Talon you have no idea what class means to be posting about the last regime when you don't know them, if you do post your name.

This surprises me. Isn't Fairview football program still in the penalty phase ?

I may be mistaken but I think that I read in the KHSAA report / sanctions on Fairview football that there were not allowed a "spring practice period" in 2014. This was part of the penalties put on the program.....were not to practice before the late summer, pre season practice period in August of 2014. By your post - statement on putting in a new offense during spring practice then wouldn't that put Fairview in violation again ?.....and even before the previous period specified sanctions were passed ? Fairview football along with the penalties I am thinking that the program are also on a 4 year probation period. A spring practice when banned for 2014 spring, if that were the case ? I am not sure on how that works, was just wondering .....

btw Talon....no way could this, if true and in violation, could be the fault of the previous coach.... I would think that this would be all on the current staff / administration. just sayin'.

FHS was clear for spring peactices , & a KHSAA rep was there for the 1st practice . FHS was not allowed to have any football activity until spring practice . We were allowed to have 3 weeks of spring ppractices.

I simply don't respect anything about Fairview anymore. Isn't the superintendent who was as crooked as the rest of them and was supposed to step down now back as he rescinded his resignation? Or was thy the AD? Either way they are as crooked as they come and for a team to cheat like they have been and not winning anything kind of makes them a laughing stock to some.
