I wouldn't call it spring practice, just normal workouts.

Mac was a star receiver, but not a star QB at the beginning of last year. In fact, w/ the competition that they played, he had a very rough start (which is completely expected) before turning it around. The year before that, Cain had a rough start. I would expect the same with Anderson, but w/ Coach Wiggins coaching him up during the season, he'll be humming along come playoff time.

 

That is why I did not say "Star QB" and said "Star Player". Hightchew was not a QB either until he became one his Soph year when moved to the position.

I'm not to sure about an 0-5 start but I will say they have their work cut out for them. Those who follow the BREDS now that the player's and coach's will rise to the challenge and give all they can to keep the tradition going strong and positive for everyone on the hill.

From what I'm hearing is that they are going to be really young but,but they have a bunch of kids that saw time last year and they are athletic kids with a will to win. Might be very exacting for fans this year as always can't wait for the season to start.:popcorn:

They're going to surprise the teams who think just because they are 2a and they beat them last year, its going to be a cake walk this year. Everyone of those teams have lost "significant" players either through graduation or wanting to concentrate on another sport. Campbell lost a lot to graduation and even more with Wilson not coming back and SK is minus Kuntz. IMO, both of those teams have more to worry about at QB than NCC. I think the biggest test for NCC is Ashland and controlling UK recruit Baker. If their defense can clamp down on him the running game for the first 5 opponents are in trouble.

That is good optimism but remember this is a 40 man SR/JR/SO 2A roster that probably plays 25 that is going to be going up against 65 man or larger rosters that play 40-45 kids week after week. I think NCC could be in all the non-district games and might win some. But last year the schedule wore them down after the Ashland game. And any injuries are tough to handle for a 2A school playing 5A and 6A schools. I would think Ashland on the road and Dixie are very tough games this year. Cooper, SK, and Camels could be competitive but could be losses.

I guess we will never know. I do know this, any team that can put 60 up on the Breds this year would probably be a state champ in their respective class, no way the Birds do that.

Saw Brandon Gray at a recent baseball game and he said he'd be ready to go for football season. Important to get his skill set and leadership back for NCC this year.

Talon for sure after that it is up in the air, I will say this though that jr. class has a ton of talent not very big but speed and heart, for the soph class even better IMO, they don't have big #'s but talent,size and speed. If NCC coaching staff can get these kid's to buy in and listen to their upper classmen, I feel good thing's will come to the boy's on the hill. Can't wait to the BRED'S on the field.:ylsuper:

I think some of sophomores to be will contribute next season. Spencer Pangallo, Job Freppon and Cole Carmack are very nice players and will gain significant minutes at the varsity level. I saw Kobe Talon during baseball and that kid is getting bigger every time I see him. I think NCC will be fine, biggest questions are QB, which underclass men step up and staying healthy.
