Power move by Ballard, Smallwood and Doug B. LETS GO PANTHER!!!

Much like the way I feel about Warren Central, I feel like the length of the tenure may be a big part of deciding just how good this was. You don't want a short term rental at HC. Really the most head scratching thing is why did Brown retire and then turn around and take this job?

Or why would you leave John Hardin for E-Town?

Heard they gave him everything he asked for, so it became an offer he couldn't refuse.

Etown has got a lot going on in sports.... Girls basketball a top program in the nation... Football only losing three (3) seniors... New stadium, track, and field house, new pre-k school on campus... oh yeah since 1956 we've had our home games off campus at the middle school... A new swimming pool facility... Our baseball team beat Central Hardin last night, we are 1-13 the past 5 years against them!... I'm just a go panther kinda guy. I could've just said congrats but... I didn't see it coming either.

Here is why he took job... Didn't like retirement as much as he thought and he wants to groom his son for the job at Etown.. The one horse race is now over and the winner has been revealed.. Good choice by Etown

Girls soccer is why that stadium was built, nice for football no doubt, but girls soccer owns that stadium. This was a good hire for Etown, Coach Brown was also smart enought to leave John when he knew there was a downslide coming. He's no idiot...but grooming his son will be something different, not saying he's not the coaching choice of the future, but there is a huge difference in father and son with those 2. Not a bad thing, but the chicken has not hatched there yet. Etown will do well, they are LOADED for the next 2 years...if a few local kids who do not live in district can be pursuaded to attend...then it will only get better. Be interesting to see how they fare against the new 3A in a year. PT, Caldwell, Boyle, Lex Cath...will all be in their playoff future. Good luck, let's see if John and Etown get the rivalry started again!!

^^^ To add onto what DH said, Etown will be stacked in 2015. They will be dang good next year, too. They only lost 3-4 seniors, but most if not all were OL/DL.

James Washington, and the physical freak he is (One of, if not the best 110 hurdler in the state) played FB and DE/OLB). He is the only one of those that I can think of who wasn't a both way OL/DL.

What they lost was very few, but they were players. They have the chance to be very, very good the next two years.

Their 8th grade bunch also was the regular season champs of their Hardin/Etown/Meade Co league (which, outside of 3A Etown, is all feeder schools for current 6A Meade Co and Central Hardin, 5A John Hardin and North Hardin)...says a little something about what is coming up, too.
