I'm relatively sure several schools have won a region title in their first year...but it would take quite a bit of digging to find it.

Logan County was in its 2nd year when it won state in 1984. Went 26-6 in 1983, 37-3 the year they won it. Gerald Sinclair was the school's coach for its first four years.

A consolidation of five schools:

Auburn “Tigers”

Lewisburg “Rangers”

Olmstead “Ramblers”

Adairville “Cardinals”

Chandlers Chapel “Bears”

After Marshall struggled early in the year they slowed things way down and forced teams to play a half court grind it out game. They had the best big man in the region and they used him to control games. This game was played at a really slow pace and that kept the score really low. Was actually a pretty well played game just low scoring.

Likely a well played game, as someone mentioned. But in Region 1, they tend to slow things down.

Pretty impressive post season for McCracken Co. They defeated arguably the other 4 top schools in the region in their last 4 games.

Marshall has a way of slowing teams down. McCracken averaged about 65 points a game this year but it wasn't close to that in the three games against Marshall. Marshall liked to use Rentfrow to control the flow and McCracken likes to get their guards out on the run. It was a good game by both teams.

Almost. Coach Barry Reed took the (26-3) Tigers to the region championship in their final season...where they lost to Warren Central 52-44.
