March 10, 201412 yr Eastern is where I got my degree. They had some good teams when I was there in the early '70's that made the NCAA tourney. They had a big guy named Dan Augabrite and good guards in Wade Upchurch and a guy named Bryant. Also another good shooter named Mitchell. If I'm not mistaken they took Florida State to the wire in the tourney the year the Seminoles made it to the Final Four. Just a little reminiscenting. My sister graduated from EKU in 71' or 72' I believe. i remember some of those teams as well as R. Kidd's football teams.
March 10, 201412 yr I saw on ESPN that they as of now was projecting the Colonels as a #14 seed. That sounds about right.
March 10, 201412 yr That sounds about right. That would have been my guess. My thought was 14 at best and 15 at worst. It looks like the OVC will have at least 4 tournament teams this postseason.
March 10, 201412 yr In what I felt was a disappointing season for EKU, that all turned around quickly in Nashville. They had a battle on Friday night that went down to the wire against Murray State and then a short turnaround to take on the Bruins. EKU started red hot nailing 6 threes in the first few minutes of the game which ultimately was the deciding factor. Belmont battled back to tie it a couple of times but EKU has some strong minded folks that can respond under pressure. Glad to see Belmont go down. Just an annoying program.
March 10, 201412 yr EKU is not strong defensively and horrendous at rebounding, but on offense they can put up points, they don't turn over the ball, and can shoot. With the right match-up they can be trouble for a team.

March 10, 201412 yr Wow, no bashing of the OVC officials in this one Wireman? I'm proud of you! Actually, our good ol' BGP friend diggerphelps was supposed the officiate this game, but since he has a degree from EKU, he had to sit it out.

The late night EKU/MSU game was horrendous. Whoever the frosty tip ref is never gets a good reception from the fans. I think everyone in the EKU/MSU game had 4 fouls. Payne picking up his 4th with about 13:00 minutes remaining killed the Racers.

I think Eku was playing the best and the best team won. But, I have 5 seasons worth of ovc games on film and could make him a lowlight tape that would open some eyes.
