Getslow Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 13 points 13 rebounds 7 blocks. And the C-J this morning had him with 13-11-4.
AvidTiger Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 And the C-J this morning had him with 13-11-4. 4 is absolutely wrong he had 2 in one possession.
Smallhoops Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Agree that Spalding had more than 4 blocks - 7 is much more like it. Spalding is very talented. If Trinity ends up playing Ballard again, I'm not sure how Ballard stops him. Of course, if Snider and Martin are on their games and scoring in bunches, it may not matter.
tcjkbt Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 4 is absolutely wrong he had 2 in one possession. Yes, 2 in about 3 seconds.
Green guy Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 And the C-J this morning had him with 13-11-4. Avid Tiger has it right: 13 pts, 13 rbs, 7 blocks. See Trinity's official stats submitted to KHSAA: http://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kybbk13/stats_42810_30335 The note says, "Raymond Spalding - double double - 13 pts, 13 reb - his 14th double double of season - also had 7 blocks, matching season high."
tcjkbt Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Avid Tiger has it right: 13 pts, 13 rbs, 7 blocks. See Trinity's official stats submitted to KHSAA: 2013/14 Kentucky High School Boys Basketball The note says, "Raymond Spalding - double double - 13 pts, 13 reb - his 14th double double of season - also had 7 blocks, matching season high." When you add in his intimidation factor around the basket, the line looks even better.
Clyde Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Ray was a guest of XU when they beat Creighton last week.
thsrocks Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 The student body chants were much more appropriate this time at Bellarmine than those in recent past. St. Xavier's president walked around in front of his students before the game and Trinity's president is always visible to the students at these events. St. X said something about a kid on steroids? I didn't make out the name. Trinity told the Tiger supporters to "Stick to Swimming". "We are Saint X" is the Tigers' favorite and of course "Go Saint X, Beat the Weeds" has aggravated me for forty years! Trinity's "Beat Saint X" was answered with "We don't care". I found that to be a curious reply. The "Winning Team, Losing Team" was invoked by the Rocks. And my favorite chant this night came after a key offensive foul committed by the Tigers. Trinity responded with "You let the whole team down." The crowd could have been stuffed into Steinhauser Gymnasium. BU now holds 2,200 for basketball and there were approximately 1,500 there at $7.00 per person. I am unsure if the Catholics have to split the take with the other 6 teams in the region. It sure beat playing the game at Valley. I also found out these were 8th Region officials. They were a little out of their comfort zone.
