March 5, 201412 yr I know they are playing the Humane Society benefit in Lancaster on 3/29 and are playing at the Red Mile in the round barn on 4/4.
March 5, 201412 yr Personally, unlike a lot of bands, I think they sound better live. They play with so much energy. The album is excellent, but I like the original version of Lily a little better than Lily '14. I agree. The new versions of Lily and Home sound like they have too much production work in the studio. I like there sound of just two guys up on a stage. But I guess that just comes with getting bigger in the industry. As of last night the new album was in the top 5 on the iTunes country charts.

Currently sitting at #6 behind Eli Young Band, David Nail, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, and Cole Swindell. Not a bad group to be in the running with.
March 6, 201412 yr 1st bold: He probably meant Redmon's in Lex. That is where they got their start and they are playing there quite often. 2nd bold: They will be performing tomorrow night (Mar 6) at the Southgate House Revival. Tickets can be found online. Doors open at 8 and the show is scheduled to start at 9 (I do not know who is opening for them). I absolutely love their music and I will be in attendance tomorrow. If any other BGPer goes, please let me know. Actually they got their start in Pikeville at a little Pikeville College hangout called "Champs" (now renamed). They later got the gig at Redmonds as the house act and went on and blew up from there. They still had a rather large following in the Champs days though.
March 6, 201412 yr Pretty sure one of the two played for Coach Booher. Correct, that would be Kris Bentley. He played for P'burg up until Jr. or Sr. year then transferred to Shelby Valley (had a grandmother live in the area or something). He had a pretty sweet stroke back in the day, I think he later played at Centre or somewhere like that. Nick Jamerson was a pretty good on the gridiron for Prestonsburg, he ended up going to UK to play but left after the first semester I think. He ended up being a big contributor for Pikeville College/UPIKE. Wasn't ever around Kris that much, but both seem to be really nice guys. Have hung out with Nick a few times and spent the night with him and a couple of our other buddies watching Tom Petty concert videos. He's got some musical talent and was a pretty cool guy every time I was around him. I never would have dreamed he would have blew up like this but I'm glad he did. He was also a former BGP'er back in the day, we now have famous Alum I suppose.
March 6, 201412 yr The concert has been postponed until next Wednesday the 12th due to illness I just saw on their FB page.
