frankdracman23 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Notre Dame vs Holy Cross possible rematch?? Should be an interesting tourney!! Who could be the "Cinderella" team...Boone Co?? Rematches could abound. Just about every team in each bracket has played all the teams in the other bracket. I would say the favorites (if there is such a thing this year) would be for a Highlands vs ND semi and a HC vs NCC semi. But nothing would surprise me.
dribbledrive Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I agree. They all have played each other. I see possibly two upsets in the first round, maybe three. That's if you go by seedings.
FastForward Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm gonna go & take the bold move by saying Holy Cross wins 9th Region with the Final being a rematch of NDA vs HC!! My "Cinderella team" is Boone Co. & as it has been shown the whole 2013/2014 season, it truly can be any team's night but going by the season record, I feel this is the year for Holy Cross!!

Clyde Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 What's plan B for Monday? No way Boone will be in school. If it's as bad as they say evening activities will be cancelled. Will the board allow Boone to still play?
paNDA Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 What's plan B for Monday? No way Boone will be in school. If it's as bad as they say evening activities will be cancelled. Will the board allow Boone to still play? If Monday doesn't happen then they play Tuesday at Holmes, according to Mr. Skinner
dribbledrive Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Talking about a true Cinderella. It would have to be a team from the 34th district. Boone is probably the number 4 in this tournament. Ncc 1, nda 2, holy cross 3, boone 4, highlands 5, conner 6.

Drunk Johnny Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The region has about 4 or 5 teams with a real chance to win it. It truly will be which team is hitting shots that night that will win. I don't think there is a team that is head and shoulders above the rest at this point. I still think NDA, NCC, and Highlands are the favorites, but if Holy Cross stays hot or Conner gets on a roll the region is up for grabs.
dribbledrive Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I agree. The true Cinderella has to be Dixie. First Holy Cross then NCC. You got to be kidding me.
RCC9 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Talking about a true Cinderella. It would have to be a team from the 34th district. Boone is probably the number 4 in this tournament. Ncc 1, nda 2, holy cross 3, boone 4, highlands 5, conner 6. Interesting. Boone and HC in front of HHS. Boone 17-11 HC 20-7 HHS 22-7. HHS beat both in the regular season.
paNDA Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 If Monday doesn't happen then they play Tuesday at Holmes, according to Mr. Skinner The Ninth Region girls’ tournament is being held at The Bank of Kentucky Center and tournament manager Stan Steidel announced at the tournament draw what the Enquirer reported Sunday, which is that if Monday’s games are cancelled due to the weather then they will be moved to Tuesday night at Holmes High School. The Tuesday games will be played The Bank of Kentucky Cente The Monday games possibly affected would be 34th District champion St. Henry (18-11) vs. 36th District runner-up Highlands (22-7) and 33rd District champ Boone County (17-11) vs. 35th District runner-up Notre Dame (20-8) in the upper bracket of the tournament. “It would be disappointing not to play at The Bank of Kentucky Center, because my girls are all looking forward to it, but we understand the situation with the weather,” said first-year St. Henry head coach Paul Sturgeon. “This year has been so crazy with it anyway, but hopefully the forecasters are wrong.” Enquirer article
