Yeah,,,,,at whose expense,,nothing is cheap at BOK,,including rent..

Danny did you attend the game and help defray the cost? If so thanks the four teams thank you, if not, why do you care?

I havent sent my donation in yet,,trying to figure how much,,what did you send?

My family and I bought tickets, paid for parking, and watched two enjoyable basketball games played on a really nice court. Your point?

I've never been clear on how the BOK arrangement works for local high school games, but I'm sure someone here can clarify the matter. In the meantime, I'd like to think that perhaps some folks with the means to make a kind and generous gesture went ahead and did so. It happens.

My understanding is BOK writes a check to the participants and assumes all financial risks.

Not sure if the district is the same deal as the Region Tournament or not.

Original plan was for only the finals to be played at BOK, but there may have been some backlash from Beechwood and Holy Cross.

Unless a ridiculous crowd attends Saturday night, not sure much money will be made on this.

Best bet would have been to move district to Holmes, like Holy Cross did last year as host.

I made that same suggestion the other day and got bashed.....

No did not attend, why Would I want to go see two bad games, pay the inflated ticket price and parking on top of that. If the games had been at the Zesta Cracker Sweat Box I would attended..

Both games may have been blowouts and predictable outcomes from some people's point of view, but in my opinion, neither one was a bad game.

Then why would you or should you care?

That is a logical fallacy, friend. If you were not at the games you did not know whether they were bad or good, especially since you rendered your judgment before the games had taken place. By the same token, if you judged these games after the fact it would be on the basis of hearsay rather than evidence, and you could not rationally decide whether you wanted to attend or not because the event had already passed. Many of those who did attend considered these games worth watching...after they had watched them, at which point it makes sense to offer an opinion.

More to the point, these games you dismiss as "bad" involved kids who do not necessarily get onto this type of court very often. It would be wonderful if every high school tournament guaranteed at least one appearance for each team in a college setting, but in the meantime it's great that some teams who may not always emerge from districts (and whose players may not get chances to play college hoops) get a small taste of college basketball atmosphere.

I have never enjoyed watching blowouts..

For an educational system that claims to have no excess money it seems to be a waste to pay to move these games to an larger venue, which is not needed for seating purposes, therefore cutting your profits, I for one like s to see my tax money spent wisely. If that is wrong, so be it,,,,,

Apparently you didn't read Clyde's post but to make it easy for you here it is:

How much are ticket prices for these games? maybe 7 or 8 bucks? So you pay $1 or $2 more, I'm sure you have spent that on stupider stuff. There is FREE parking with in 60 second walk of BOKC. Finally, give me a cushioned seat with a back any day of the week. :thumb:

Yes I saw the post......Yeah,,I am sure the BOK just sends them a blank check..Does Clyde also work for the leasing agent of the BOK..
