When I've seen Lafayette this season they have really struggled when Davis goes to the bench. They have several other solid players, but it seems like they can't keep it together when Davis is out. I also feel like the coaching staff has kept him out too long when he is in foul trouble. He has to stay on the court for Lafayette to have a shot at winning the 11th.

I agree with this. They looked average at best when he was out and they kept him out way too long, IMO.

This was their 6th game since 2/7 as well, so maybe part of the motivation was letting some guys get some rest. Not really sure that 6 games in 14 days is a ton or anything, but maybe there are some nagging injuries as well.

 

Regardless, Lafayette is going into the district with an L and Boyle County gets a big win.

Agree 100%. I never really felt that Lafayette got going at any time. They looked decent in the first half but that was that.

If Boyle County can beat Lafayette, I like their chances in the 12th as well. If they can beat Lafayette, they're capable of beating Wayne County (still the favorite) or Lincoln County (still the #2). I'd probably say Boyle County, Southwestern, and West Jessamine are the kinds of teams who are definitely capable of spoiling someone's night if nothing else. All of Boyle County's losses except Southwestern have come against teams that were ranked this week. Tonight was definitely a "feather in the cap" type win when you evaluate their body of work as a whole.

 

Lafayette has 2 losses in the Gonzaga (DC) Classic, 1 one loss to both Scott County and Hopkinsville, 2 losses to Trinity, and 2 losses to Lexington Catholic (when they were playing well no less), and now a loss to Boyle County. That's some elite company.

Hagen Tyler finished with 35 points and 12 rebounds. Lafayette could not stop him.

 

Jackson Davis had 19 points and 14 rebounds.

 

Colton Elkins finished with 8 blocks.

Lafayette's main problem has been guard play this season. When Davis leaves the game, the offense becomes stagnant.

Yea I know! The class of 2016 here in Kentucky blows my mind! It's loaded with talent! Division 1 talent at that!
