Knott County Central 77 Perry County Central 60

Knott jumped out early and Perry could never get back in it. PCC's big man, Johnson, was in foul trouble for most of the game and was a non-factor. Justice 41 points, 17 for 17 from the foul line (UK needs to sneak him in for some lessons). I believe Hall had around 22 for the Patroits. Bevery had 25 for the Commodores, 23 of them in the 2nd half.

Technicals hurt PCC. Probably not a factor in who who the game but they had 3 T's. One to start the game for having a player with the wrong number in the book, one on Johnson for arguing with the referee when he thought he had been fouled, and one on Coach Hoskins for disagreeing on a call. And of course, Justice is their designated free throw shooter in those situations. That was an automatic 6 points for the Patroits, he's deadeye from the stripe. And it helped KCC keep the momentum in their favor.

PCC will need to keep their composure if they meet up with KCC again, and more than likely they will in the regional tournament, which is played at PCC this year.

Wow. Butt whipping.

Yep. Really not much of a contest from the tipoff. But Perry did pull within 4 at the half after being down by 13. Then it was all Knott and Justice in the 2nd half.

Thanks again, love the 14th

Being a Knott fan I have to be very happy with the win. However, I went to see the stars of these two teams compete. Chance Cornett had two fouls in the first three minutes; Cam Justice had two fouls with five minutes left in the second quarter. Johnson and Beverly had two fouls at he half. Johnson had a third foul early in the third quarter. The game was basically over when Johnson was assessed with a technical midway through the third. I don't know what he said but he got the T from a referee that I haven't seen call a Knott game. I have missed a lot of games this year so he could be someone I simply am not familiar with. That being said, Braxton did everything possible to keep PCC in the game, 23 in the second half, but Camron had 24 in the second half. Let's not forget that Evan Hall was consistent throughout the game. He ended with 19 and double figures in rebounds. Referees should never be the focus in any game. Knott would have been difficult to handle last night, regardless. They were ready to win. Let the argument begin about playing a difficult schedule. Knott certainly has. A big win but the regionals at Perry and Cordia and Hazard will play a role.

Good grief, thought it might be closer. However, like someone said previously, the winner here hasn't been the winner in the region the last couple of times if I remember correctly.

I think referees sometimes come into a big game like this with the mind set that they've got to make sure they keep control of the game. I agree with you that it did seem that the whistle was blown quite often last night, especially on key players. Perry was trailing by single digits when Johnson picked up his 3rd foul early in the 3rd quarter, and then shortly afterwards was hit with a technical foul that was his 4th foul, which sent him to the bench. I'm not saying that's what cost Perry the game but it did seem to put them back on their heels and they never recovered. Knott's lead ballooned from single digits to 15 -20 points fairly fast. However, even when Johnson was in the game Knott's Evan Hall wasn't having any trouble scoring or rebounding on him. It's probably a night the WKU signee had rather forget about and prepare for a likely rematch in the regional at Perry Central.

That the game was played at KCC is key to all that occurred and has been said.

Because of that I can't allow this game to heavily influence my thinking about when they will meet again.

However WHERE the region will be played IS key.

I have seen both of these teams play more than 3 times each,,,,still believe Knott is the better team
