Shooter, did you really guess that or did you already talk to someone? Cause you nailed it. I can picture it already, Coach Hicks was acting like a complete wildman from the second row behind the bench and BEEEEEEP, " You're gone Coach". I'm sure it was well deserving.

think about it, of all the guys calling jv games, there is a real short list of who would toss a head coach in the stands, chad is about the only one I could name :D

OK Someone tell us..... What did Hicks do?

Who won the JV game in this match-up?

Hicks does get a little excited when watching or coaching his kids, but it is rare to see a head coach removed from the gym for complaining about a JV game, especially from the stands. Maybe he went completely overboard with whatever he did. Evidently no one has any details, or if they do, they don't want to talk about it. :sssh:

Was he allowed to coach the varsity game after the JV ejection?

Hicks sets a poor example for his players. He constant screaming and crying over calls is so over the top that no one can take him seriously. He is a very poor excuse as a coach.

Sutton and Smith have made every good decision for GC this year. Cook did the Musketeers a favor.

Whether or not you like Hicks or not, it was a bush league move by a young official trying to make a name for himself.

A totally, unheard of, classless move by the official.

Or, maybe a class show of behavior by a coach that should not have been overlooked.

Were you there?

He was little late turning in a paper, he will be back.

Hutchinson failed to get a paper turned in on time but sources tell me that during 5th period that he was ok to play then at the end of school he was told he would not play. Hutch is a great kid and does well in the classroom. Just made a mistake.

Hicks was yelling at Cook during the JV game and I guess MR. Cook got offended with what he said. The officials made several phone calls before the game to higher authority to find out that once a coach/fan is removed from the gym he can not return to the gym for the remaining of the evening.

Greenup coaches did a great job making adjustments during the game. Black was dominating inside in the first quarter (11 points) then Greenup went to a zone that effectively shut down Black the remainder of the game.

Why was it classless?? Was it undeserved? Just wondering?

How many games has Hicks been given the gate in his tenure at GCHS? In reality, should there have been/be more??

Just one paper caused him to set out??

Personally, I would prefer Chad over MANY of the officials that show up at your friendly neighborhood gyms in the 16th. He has never been anything but consistent in the games I've seen him officiate. Sounds to me that GC could stand to let the asst. coaches steer the ship a bit more often. I have seen GC twice this season. In the Raceland-GC game, the head coach rode the officials on virtually every trip. I think, IMHO, that he should have been heaved in that one. :thumb:

I agree Chad Cook does a very good job and he will be one of the top officials in the next couple of years. I was a referee for several years and it is not an easy job.

Many young officials quit after a year or two beacuse of the abuse they receive from coaches and fans. You must have tough skin to blow the whistle.
