Can't believe she's a senior, time does fly.

A few observations from last night, first want to thank TOG for all of the updates during the tournament. I wasn't sure if it was good defense or bad offense, but both teams fought hard and were focused. Angel and Zieglermeyer had good synergy together, Brent brings up Zigs's intensity and Zigs calms Brent's passion. CCH had some clutch free throws at the end.

I did not get the stall tactic in 2ot by the Breds, too young of kids and not enough strong ball handlers for that long period. Moeves was attacking the basket all game, would of kept that strategy going.

Final thought, did both head coaches look like they could of been brothers? They at least had the same barber.

Holmes: Raavai Commodore....is he related to the Commodore from last years Newport team???? Or former Newport stand-out, Tony Commodore????

Raavai Commodore I believe is the brother of the Englemon kid from Holmes last yr. Commodore from Newport is is his cousin.

Both teams played under the same refs, but is there a purpose for having 3 refs in this game? As far as I know, this is the only game all year with 3 refs. Are these refs used to a 3 man crew and game called different/refs defer? I may be alone, but I'd just as soon keep a 2 man crew.

If you have watched many of the frosh games this year you could tell why three were needed. Most of the refs in this area cannot keep up with the athletes to be able to be in good position to make calls. This is not a knock against the officials but a sign of the athletes ability to run the floor at a younger age. I personnally heard two crews myself openly admit that they cannot keep up as a two man crew. I would think that money and number of referees available are issues as far as frosh and JV are concerned but in most games I witnessed this year a two man crew is at a huge disadvantage.

This was the first Freshman Regional Tournament I have seen and BIG KUDOS to CCH for 'Doing it up right!'.

Impressive tournament from start to finish and last night was definitely the icing on top of the cake.

From the light show, to the smoke, to having just about ALL the coaches (exception Holmes who had a game) there to present the All Tournament Team awards to their players.

It was very very impressive and CCH couldn't have attached a better name to the tournament than Mr. Jack Kaelin!

Great Job to all involved!

While we always don't agree with the calls all refs made I think having 3 for this game helped. While you could look at it and say it hurt because they saw more :) in reality I think it helped.

Hats off to CCH and all the members of the Jack Kaelin Freshmen Tournament Committee. Look forward to watching next year's tournament.

CCH does do a nice job with the tourney.

I am sure the three man crew did a fine job. Less stress to put yourself in position to see the calls.

It's not like the crew called 14-3 against a certain team or one official called 12-1 against a team in a half or anything. That would be something to gripe about.

I wish they would leave the lights on when announcing the All-Tourney team, bad for picture taking I would assume (paNDA???), plus difficult to see all the kids. However, CovCath does "it" right. :thumb:
