SL shot terribly (especially from 3 land), but Boyle played very well and deserved the win. The big guy for Boyle apparently had a great game from the reports I have heard.

 

Hopefully this provides a wake up call for the Cards and they can get it together heading into the district, region, and hopefully state tourney!!!

 

I think, as good as this loss may look to some of the regions top teams, I think (hopefully) it will have the opposite effect and make SL MADDDDD and help them to turn up the heat!!!

This is a very surprising loss for the Cardinals. Hats off to the Rebels for pulling this upset. It will be interesting to see how SL responds to this loss. It will also be interesting to see how Boyle responds to the win.

If you shoot it as bad as South reportly did then you can almost guarantee a loss. South is still the best in the region. This may serve as a wake up call for the Cardinals. I remember last season Lex Cath pulled the shocker and then the rest of the story speaks for itself. Boyle is a physcially strong team with a 6'9 player inside. No team in the region other than Clay can be as physical as the Cards.

I think SL puts it together and still wins the region, but this, as do the other losses, shows that it will be incredibly difficult for them to repeat as champions.

I know it's just a loss, but it doesn't look like the Cards will repeat this year. Plus, A loss like this has teams like Clay, Corbin and Bell licking their chops come region time.

If you were there it wouldn't seem like a shock. Boyle was masterful in controlling the tempo, and they played great, great defense. That 3-2 with Staed at the point is nasty. It completely took Ty Proffitt out of it, and forced SL to operate from the wings.

What's the big deal? E'town is the favorite in the 5th, even though John Hardin will be tough to beat again, and South Laurel is clearly the favorite in the 13th. What's wrong with getting an up-close and personal look at a potential Sweet 16 opponent?

On a more sad note, there was a young lady injured while doing a cheerleading stunt at halftime, and was taken out on a stretcher as precaution. She did hit her head, but was moving her arms so that is encouraging.

 

Keep her in your prayers. Walt mentioned her in the post-game prayer. Very classy.
