South is just not playing well right now at all.

South will have to learn to quit playing to what they think the competition is.They also let teams of late decide the pace of the game instead of dictating the flow of the game.If

they cant shoot better than 14-52 for 26% against Boyle(no disrespect) they might as well plan on staying in London for march.Wright has his work cut out for him.He should'nt have to,but he has to let these guys know that noones going to roll over for them.

This should help Coach Wright to get South motivated to play every night, something they must do in the region or state tournaments where there is no tomorrow if you lose.

I know it's just a loss, but it doesn't look like the Cards will repeat this year. Plus, A loss like this has teams like Clay, Corbin and Bell licking their chops come region time.

It must depend on what side of the court you are on. I thought it was very exciting.

 

On a side note, I am mostly a football fan, and came to watch the Rebels play one the of the best teams in the state. I must say that after the game I was touched by the South Laurel players. #54 I think it was gave a speach and prayer after the game at mid-court with both teams in arms. That almost brought a tear to my eye. God has to be proud of this young man. "Total Class" I am for now on a Big South Laurel Supporter and wish them all the luck on a repeat State Championship. :thumb:

Correct.... Boyle hit the first free throw and missed the second, putting them up 4. I believe it was #34 who hit a full court shot at the buzzard cutting the final score to 1. Making that a very big free throw now that you look at it.

If you shoot it as bad as South reportly did then you can almost guarantee a loss. South is still the best in the region. This may serve as a wake up call for the Cardinals. I remember last season Lex Cath pulled the shocker and then the rest of the story speaks for itself. Boyle is a physcially strong team with a 6'9 player inside. No team in the region other than Clay can be as physical as the Cards.

Boyle must have played solid defense to hold South Laurel to 42 points, sure South shot poorly but a lot of that can be attributed to Boyle not giving them many easy baskets.

I think SL puts it together and still wins the region, but this, as do the other losses, shows that it will be incredibly difficult for them to repeat as champions.
