KHSAA Stat Leaders

Featured Replies

Good to see Boyle County reporting stats now.

Hagen Tyler leading the state at 92.7% from the free throw line. Word up.

19 rebounds a game????? I need to see Justin Johnson play.

Johnson avg. 22 and 19 a game. He's a beast! Also, thought it was pretty cool Evan Hall leading the state in FG %, love to see local kids in EKY doing well.

Cory Thomas avg 28.8 against stiff competition. Gifted scorer. Smoothest I've seen.

2013/14 KY Boys Basketball Stat Leaders

Still less than 25% of schools reporting stats, 64 to be exact.

Brent Bach leading the state in scoring.

No Ballard, Trinity or Scott County (among top 25 schools) so it is hard to judge the numbers when many of the best in the state aren't even submitting theirs numbers.

If someone on the NewCath staff would take the time to report, I'd say Jake Schulte would be at the top of this list.

Me, you can have all the individual stats leaders you want, I will take the teams with the best stats. Teams playing as individual never play as well as players playing as a team!

BTW can this stat be possible correct?

Woodford County Games 18... FTM 46.... FTA 64 71.9

Can Woodford Co really have only 64 attempts in 18 games? I mean that less than 3 attempts a game average?

I think everybody would take the team with the best stats. Nothing wrong with enjoying individual stats as well though. The kids work hard and deserve to be recognized for their contributions to the team that they play for.

If a kid from CovCath led in scoring, would that not be significant? Agree with PP92.

Ronnie Carson was averaging 28 points a game last I saw. Sometimes teams report and sometimes they don't. Ballard had been reporting until this most recent one.

I'd love to know how many points a game Trent Gilbert is averaging.

He is amazing to watch!

Actually one of our kids is in the top 15 in 3pt FG made

16 Games 40 3pt made 79 3pt attempts 2.5 per game (10th) per game

but team stats to me are more important.

Yes, definitely more important. I would much rather win a region title than have the region player of the year, or the states leading scorer.

With that said, it's quite fun to follow a player as they move toward 1000 or 2000 points, or see if a guy can average 20 rebounds per game.

Also, if your team simply isn't very good, it gives you something else to be excited about.
