I just heard that Brian Soverns went 56'6" and 163' last night at a home meet. Seems like we may have an interesting year. Let's just hope someone can hit 60'

Grayson County. Is that a large or small school?

Grayson County is a AAA school.

Cooper from Brossart I think won A school state shot last year... I think he is a junior this year. Last season I know he was throwing around 51'... Don't know how that compares with everyone else around the state, but it's the best I've seen in watching about 2/3 years of H.S. shot...

Troy Cooper from Brossart, and he is a junior in only his second year of track!! Best throw in a meet is aound 56'-57' I believe. Michelle Simon, also of Brossart will be tough in both shot (best around 36' +) and discus (117'+)!!

Cooper goes to Bishop Brossart which is A. So these two will not meet in the state finals. Thats too bad. I would like to see Cooper face some competition in a meet. Seeing him compete in basketball, I know he would produce in stiff competition in shot.

Coop won class A last year and is VERY motivated to try and put up a number that will win the overall state; so I think you'll see that competitive spirit you're discussing!!

In AA girls, Chinwe Okoro of Russell threw 40'+ earlier this week, and she was reportedly under the weather. Sets up the annual showdown between Chinwe and Pam Bell of Paducah-Tilghman.

my Shot Put predictions

A - Troy Cooper Brossart

AA - Curtis Marshall Newport

AAA - Brian Soverns Grayson
