January 15, 201412 yr Author Roads, as of now, are in good shape. Surface temps too warm. Watch bridges and overpasses though and despite road surface temperatures being above freezing could still be some black ice. Those in in eastern Kentucky should watch for some slick spots because as the front passes your area the winds will shift and may cause some snow showers. May see up to 1/2 inch enough to cover the roads and make them slick.
January 15, 201412 yr Author thanks to everyone for the concern. As of now LaRue County is the only county that I know of that has deployed their road crews because of winter weather road conditions.
January 15, 201412 yr This won't be a big event the winter advisory area is only expecting 1-2 inches of snow. Shouldn't start until after midnight and then taper off during Wednesday afternoon. Some roads will be slick so if they are careful should make it just fine. Just tell them to watch the higher amounts in the mountains if they are coming through N.C. I know they were supposed leave late last night, driving straight through. They probably came down 74 to 75 and that way south. Mrs. S got a call from Atlanta around 10 am. So they made it through any potential bad stuff OK.
