Bama's Next QB Coming From FSU?

Featured Replies

If he is beaten out for the starting slot, will he again take his ball and run to another team?

On the day that Coker visits Bama 2015 5* QB commit Ricky Towns de-commits from Bama.

All in the game.

Am I imagining something or did I read on BGP a few months ago that ago that he at one time was interested in UK because of his ties to Stoops when he was still at FSU?

Interest and "interest" are two different things. Maybe gave us a sniff, but probably out of UK's league right now. This is coming from a huge UK fan and alum. Dad has had season tickets for football since I've been born, so I'd obviously love to see it, but it's probably nothing.

It is unlikely he gets beaten out, but it makes a lot of sense for a young man with professional football aspirations and who already lost a season to injury to not sit behind Winston. He will graduate, he competed for the gig, he did everything right. To trivialize the young man making a decision in his best interests without being on the inside and understanding all the factors in his decision as taking "his ball and run to another team"- I would feel uncomfortable doing this.

Nothing jumps out about this kid to me. Out of UK's league? Rated a 3* coming out of high school and really an average QB. Guess we will see. Believe ESPN had him rated the 70th best QB.

If you're talking about Coker Mel has him projected as a 1st round draft pick.

Went toe to toe with the Heisman Trophy winner, losing the spot late in the competition. Running out of time to start and is well regarded by those in the know. What would you do in his position if you were being told you could go high in the draft?

I think that's interesting considering he has yet to start a college football game.

I just don't see UK taking a kid whose probably going to come in and compete for the starting job at Alabama. I don't think Bama would take a flyer on him unless they thought he could help them out. He's not really much of a project/development type at this point.

Alabama has recruited so well that our back up QB who is hurt is thought to be a sure fire starter for them next year??

Alabama number one recruiting class. Again. Yeah, I'd say they've recruited pretty well.

When it comes to Bama, I'm really miffed regarding Cornwell. Ranked way to high imo and will be shocked if he ever sniffs live game action. Couldn't even move the sticks at the E11 and got benched.
