Mossberg 715T .22

Featured Replies

I've had my eyes on the S&W MP 15-22 for a while now, among other AR's on a .22 platform. However, after a friend showed me his new Mossberg it convinced me to grab one for myself. The S&W, Beretta, and others are more top of the line and higher quality, but for just a fun little gun to shoot I couldn't resist. Purchased it for $237, most of the other ones are $600+. So for the price it's almost a steal IMO, anyone else have any experience with these? I think it's pretty sweet for the price, everyone should get one!

What optics are you putting on it? I love the picatinny rail.

A friend of mine bought one in camo. Had a blast shooting it. He screwed up and grabbed two boxes of sub sonic loads. They aren't hot enough to repeat correctly and constantly jam. We thought the gun was screwed up after about 50 rounds or so until we realized what the issue was.

That's really nice! I like it. Hmmmm....

Not sure yet probably nothing too major, either a decent laser or mini scope. Going to try not to go to overboard with it, maybe just decent sights and one of those grips that has the button to flip out into a little bipod.

The cool thing about them is basically anything on the AR platform will fit so the choices are endless.

Like Jumper said very, very fun gun to shoot. Once I shot my friends and knew I could get one less than $250 I was sold.

Yeah thats about the only real issue I've read about them but have read as long as you're shooting the right ammo it shouldnt jam that bad. I've heard and read that the remington thunderbolts do about as good as anything.

Funny you say that. After we realized what the issue was my buddy found a couple of boxes of thunderbolts and they did awesome. Also shot some CCI's and they did awesome as well. After we started shooting the right ammo it never jammed once. Shot about 500 rounds through it. The only complaint I have about it is loading the clip. We would get about 10 rounds in it and it would take any more. Had to stick something thin into the spring and pull it down.

Yeah that clip is a beast, it's supposed to hold 25 but I would like to meet the man who can fit 25 in it. Going to try to get a couple extra clips, by the looks of it you will have to buy a 40 round clip to hold 25 shells.

We got 25 in both if the ones he had. But like I said we had to pull the spring down to do it.

I have to hold the spring down to get more than 16-17. I think the quick loader it came with is defected though. I can usually fit 16-17 by hand and my quick loader doesn't work at all. Going to try to get another one when I get another clip.

I took my picatinny rail off as well, I like the looks of it like that. I may put it back on depending on the optics I end up getting but I've just been using the sights it came with.

Overall though I've been able to get out and shoot it a couple of times since Monday, probably put about 100-150 shells through it. No jams, everything worked good. Just a really fun gun to take out and play around with. I usually have buyers remorse on anything I buy, but I am really loving this purchase!

They are definitely fun to shoot and way more accurate then I figured it would be.

Where does one find .22 cal rounds? I haven't seen them anywhere in a while? I inherited a .22 semi-automatic, and I would like to do some target shooting with it, but I don't have a single bullet.
