January 2, 201412 yr Head coach sadly coming back Not going to waste a high draft pick on a QB(Can find a starter later in the draft this year or next) Need linebackers and D-Line A cover corner A Hard-Hitter at safety, with speed. And an offensive coordinator who can call plays!!!!
January 2, 201412 yr And an offensive coordinator who can call plays!!!! I am interested in what they are going to do in this respect. After signing Romo for $55 million guaranteed dollars for 1 playoff win in 8 seasons , the keys were supposed to be in his hands to make a lot of the offensive decisions. Then Callahan and Garrett were supposedly back involved in the play calling after some bad performances. I rib at the Cowboys, but I think Romo is good. And maybe it is just my constant pessimism, but I always feel they are set up to make a run at the Superbowl yet they always find a way to get in their own way. The offense will be clicking and defense will give up 45 points. Or the defense will play big one game and Romo and company can only score 17 points. Just never consistent or on the same page.

They are just never prepared, plain and simple. All falls back to coaching. They have had some talent in place, but only on the 1st teams with very little depth behind that. That's why their defense performed so poorly this season, they were hit with a ton of injuries (once again) and were pulling guys off the street to step in and play. Going to take a while to solve the depth problem, it will take numerous drafts and smart free agent signings which I don't feel very confident in as long as JJ is calling the shots. But to your point of having good talent and getting in their own way, that is the saddest part about being a fan. They are the least prepared team in the league and it's always the little things that cost them big. Again, I think it all goes back to coaching and structure. You didn't see those types of things when Parcells was around.

Yeah but every other NFL team absent maybe the Jags and a couple others have legitimate 2nd and 3rd team players. The Cowboys trot out quality starters but not much beyond that, so they can't absorb the injuries like some of these teams.
