I'm going to go with Ballard by around 10. Simply too much talent and depth for Newcath to handle for a full 4 quarters.

 

I also think Ballard's style of play will get the Breds in foul trouble which is something they haven't had to deal with yet. I'm going to say Ballard pulls away in the 4th quarter.

 

Nothing against the Newcath guards (everyone knows I'm a huge fan of those kids) but if Ballard can force James Bolden in to 11 turnovers with their press, they are capable of doing the same to the Newcath guards.

I think the NCC guards are seasoned enough to handle the pressure. I see NCC winning this on a big game from McDonald.

I like NCC by 5. Say 65-60. They have played all Summer against great talent in open gyms and while I have MUCH respect for Renner and the Ballard program, it seems this NewCath team poised to make the rest of the state take serious notice. They go out and get it tonight.

 

PS--Great Great scheduling by NCC, CovCath, Holmes and Dixie this year. Yes, less home games but really big time tests for all of these programs.

The more I think about it, Newcath is really going to struggle to defend Ballard. Can Newcath utilize their size at the other end? That is the key. Ballard has struggled to defend bigs of opposing teams. To be fair, the guys who put up huge numbers on Ballard were Trey Lyles and Esa Ahmad...both elite level athletes and players.
