Saw this on the news. With all the growth in the Hamburg area, I can why it is being built there.

Is the Fayette Co. high school age population as a whole growing or will the other high schools see a small drop in enrollment as a result of this?

I know this is the basketball thread but enrollment will be around 1800 at the new school, will it change the class of any school in football. \

 

At that many students they would be 6A easily

Report on TV said that Fayette schools were growing around 700-900 students per year at the high school level.

I'd imagine that a lot of it is growing population but there's a probably a large element of redistricting as new subdivisions are popping up in and around the Hamburg area.

On the news it stated that Henry Clay had 2400+ students and was only built to accommodate 1800. Over crowding is a problem.

Not to my knowledge. It will be on Winchester Rd is about all I know.

Agreed. That area went from cow pasture to fairly developed in no time.

So it's confirmed? I thought it was just an idea at this point.

Article says only one of the schools (Tates Creek) wasn't overcrowded. Tates Creek is decently far away from the area where the new school would be as far as the zones for the high schools are laid out, so it'd take lots of shifting in the districts if they to try to balance it out that way, even assuming they could (which I doubt they can ease overcrowding just through shifting... otherwise that's probably what they would have done).
