Musick retiring at Fairview schools

WESTWOOD — Fairview’s Board of Education can add searching for a new superintendent to the to-do list in 2014.

 

Bill Musick, who has led the school district since 2005, announced his retirement at Monday night’s board of education meeting, effective at the end of June, 2014.

 

“That gives them six months to get somebody in place,” he said. “As I told some dear friends this summer, I had made up my mind on retiring then.”

 

Musick said the decision was “no one thing except Bill Musick made it because of what’s best for him.” The 55-year-old Fairview High School graduate has been in education for 33 years, the last 13 at his alma mater as either principal or superintendent.

What about Hurricane Insurance? The last family that I know that moved to an oceanfront property in Falmouth, KY lost it all in Hurricane Nate.

So the school system is searching for a new head coach, AD, principal and now superintendent in the coming year.

And I'll say this, I hate it for those Westwood folks who have raised their families there for decades and now have to face turnover. I wish them the very best.
