In regards to the game being downtown instead of on campus, as someone mentioned to me this week college kids by the Banks on a Saturday night smells like trouble.

Because there aren't places to drink heavily around campus...

You'll be up in the second level of US Bank with the rest of us...

Who is down near the court and where exactly are we in the 2nd level? First time going so just wondering what to expect.

Agreed. Difference, however, is you now have a better mix of students from both schools in one "festive" setting instead of it being one-sided on campus.

Did you hear of any issues last year???

There are like 2 media seats for each team down on the floor. The seats usually go to the Enquirer beat writer and someone from the team site. The rest of the media is in the upper deck center court across from the benches. The seating stinks and the wireless connection is worse. Enjoy... :lol2:

You mean on a week night? No.

I forgot. College kids don't party on weeknights during Christmas break... :lol2:

Was it during break last year? My aging memory sometimes fails me.

Yes it was. December 19th...

I don't disagree with you much, but I also think a Saturday at 8:00 is much more likely to have nonsense than a weeknight at 7:00. Additionally, students are not going to be culprits, it will be knucklehead adults with too much beer and too little sense.

Agree with the second part. Was just pointing out that a weeknight during break is a weekend for about 95% of students attending the game...

Agreed on all points regarding the rivalry and it slowly fading.

At one point this was a game that anyone and everyone in Cincinnati attended. National coverage by ESPN all week leading up to it and this year it is on Fox Sports 1 because it is X turn to host.

The more I think about it, maybe moving the game back to campus is the best option? And yes I know that will never happen because UC will never play at Cintas again after the past two incidents there. It really wouldn't surprise me if this is the last year we see this rivalry for a few years.

GT, will you be down on press row tomorrow night?

A) Fox Sports 1 my be new and lacking traction, but it is nationally carried. Hardly some WB affiliate.

B) of course it should be on campuses, you're just now coming to that conclusion?

C) Mick doesn't want the game period, and you're right, he is the most resistant to home and home. Never say never, Whit is bright and sees the big picture without emotion.

D) new Xavier AD and Whit will exhaust everything to keep the game being played, both have a LOT of influential folks in their ear urging they "do the right thing and play".

It is nationally carried and has yet to draw above a 0.0 for any Big East game it has carried. Double daggers for every game. That's bad any way you slice it...

Not a good start, no, but they need to lose the UFC programming 16 hours a day. They'll be fine.

They are banking on a huge bump from the Big East. So far it is a flat out dud in ratings and there isn't a game on the conference schedule that jumps out as a "must see". Tomorrow night is easily one of their 5 biggest games of the year, and there isn't even a buzz for the game in Cincinnati. Not good...
