Evan O'Hara - Boone County - Kicker/Punter - D1 Talent

Guru, is Evan related to Ricky O'Hara? Son? Nephew?

Against CovCath early in the year this young man's punts were REALLY impressive. He certainly has a great leg and a ton of talent.

Hope he gets the opportunity to kick / punt at the next level.

Ricky is Evan's Uncle but I do not know Ricky.

Saw where Mr. O'Hara was voted to the Top 26 and first team kicker and punter by the NKFCA which is pretty strong IMO. Does anyone know what schools have shown interest in him? Has he completely given up on playing soccer in college?

How the Louisville football team will replace longtime starter and departed senior John Wallace at kicker has been an under-the-radar story line of spring ball for the Cardinals, and redshirt freshman walk-on Evan O'Hara has established himself as a contender coming out of Saturday's spring game.

O'Hara, who attended Boone County High School, was the starter and took all the kicks for the Red team, which was made up of Louisville's first-team players, in a 73-7 victory over the White reserves.

He was 10-for-10 on extra points and began the game with a 37-yard field goal.

"He came out of the competition leading into the spring game as the No. 1 guy," coach Bobby Petrino said.

Congratulations to Evan and good luck! Paving the way for some up and coming kickers out of NKY.

Sidenote: There are 3 major kicking Camps across the Country providing National Rankings. Chris Sailer / Prokicker / Kohls. Not saying you have to be in one of these camps to get a D1 offer, but like any other Elite ranking; it does go along way if you are ranked highly in one.

Trust me when I say this, D1 offers are few and far between for kickers/punters/long snappers. In most cases, you will have to prove yourself before they dole out the offer. Kind of dumb if you really think about how many games come down to missed extra points or field goals inside of 40 yards.

Way to go, Evan! Making the Boone County soccer program proud.

Is he still a walk on or did they put him on scholarship?
