This happened once before at Pike Central in 2001 (I think), when Shawn Scott shattered the backboard...

This game has been rescheduled for tomorrow. The kid who shattered the glass is Ethan Blackburn, who was described as 6'8", 260.

I have seen one shattered in person during the game. Vinny Zollo shattered one in the Beachball Tourney. It took 1 1/2 hours to replace it.

Saw it happen in a pre-game at Conner in the early 90s.

Was a technical assessed? Because isn't it illegal to dunk in warmups? Or did they just assume it was a really hard layup?

They cancelled the game so I doubt it

I remember bout two years ago seeing Korey Stewart from Letcher Central shatter the backboard at Knott Central.

It has happened several times at PCC - against Belfry 2 times, against Pikeville 1 time, against Shelby Valley 1 time East Ridge 1 time - and those are ones I witnessed personally.

 

First time is has happened since they made some changes to the goals/supports systems that I know of, but I haven't been to but 3-4 Pike Central games in the past 6 years.

Hathorn from Cooper broke one about 3 weeks ago at practice.

Will never forget being a kid and walking by Tony Key at the Sweet 16. Dude had on his Russellville "a shattering season" tee shirt. Think he broke like 6-8 backboards that year.
