Brossart just plays such a solid/sound game. They continue to do the things you are suppose to do. Hard defense in the man to man (switched up to a nice 1-3-1 with Trentman out top), run their sets, get the ball into the bigs, space the floor nice. They were the better team tonight.

Brossart has a very, very nice team. Cohesive and disciplined.

 

I wish them a great season. They will be tough to defeat.

He did. Came off the bench and had a couple of quick fouls.

TAC's Take on the game;

I thought athletically the teams were evenly matched. Brossart overall shot very well from the field as they were patient and took good shots.

Brossart played through a lot of foul trouble (4 starters had at least 2 fouls in the first half, yet none fouled out). The bench helped when needed and those with the fouls played smart.

I thought Burns played extremely well, had 8 boards to go with his 18 points. Trentman had a nice game. 23 points, hit a 3 and had 7 boards. Rieger looked aggressive and distributed the ball very well, Hackworth buried 3 treys and Jennings is a kid who barely made the paper with 1 point, But he is a super quick player who had some great looks while handling the ball the lion share of the game, yet only committing a single turnover. You heard it from me, the kid flies under the radar but he is a great player! St Henry will do some damage in the 9th. Jordan Noble looked great and had some bad bounces or could have easily been in the 20's. Kunstek is big and strong, he altered a lot of shots and grabbed some boards. Rechtin played well with a couple of 3's and steady play. The sleeper for St. Henry in my opinion is Jake Plummer. Another sneaky guard that may or may not show up in the box scores, but handled the rock and applied constant pressure to the Brossart guards. I've seen Goetz mentioned as a player to watch and agree he has a lot of upside. Coach Faust also used his bench quite a bit.

As predicted a lot of families met on the court after the game and the kids chatted prior. 2 classy schools that have the utmost respect for the others program.

Both teams will have very good years. A LOT of senior athletes on the floor for both St. Henry & Brossart and skilled athletes at every position 1 thru 5. Plenty of size & talent competing last night on both squads. Brossart is sooo solid handling the basketball at every position and Trentman's length and shooting ability allows him to score ANY time he chooses. To beat either of these two good teams - you're going to have to really pressure them and make them uncomfortable handling the ball in their sets. (good luck w/that) Congrats to both teams & coaches and good luck this year.
