Buck Master
Morehead does not give athletic scholarships, but they still compete on D1 level. Zero of the Ivy League schools offer Athletic scholarships and they all compete D1. I think Morehead still gives scholarships in Basketball and Baseball, just not Football. I am not sure but I think I am right.
extackler
Does anyone know how many boy's went out for the baseball team at Highlands? I heard they cleaned house with last year's coaching staff and brought in good baseball guy's to be the head coaches of both the Varsity and JV teams. Deuce41
I don't see the need for classes as long as there is Little League, Cal Ripkin, Babe Ruth, USSA, and all the other stuff. Lets say you have 6 teams of 14 players, which is a fair average on a team, that is 84 kids, just starting out. If you do a good job of retaining kids then you should have about 60 by the middle school level. At that point the high school coach should get involved and help keep kids out, in any event you are going to start cutting kids who can't contribute and lowering your numbers, but you are still going to have that core group of good players. All you really need is 6-10 good players in each high school class and there should not be any problem. It all comes down to coaching, starting at an early age but your varsity coaches need to be involved and overseeing each aspect of the program. kissinger
This would be another option that should take place regardless of the class system. That should be the reward for winning region at a minimum. It would only add one day to the tournament at Applebee's Park. The coaches complain enough about three days and the pitching rule. Why make it four?
striker
I stand corrected...Brossart did win 5-3. Mace did, however have a no hitter thru 5 and was pulled for pitch count because we had Beechwood and Cov Cath the next two games. Haha Brossart beat you give it up, they had their number three or four pitching too...
Diamond Dandy
Haha Brossart beat you give it up, they had their number three or four pitching too... ONE OF THESE DAYS WHEN YOU HAVE SOME TIME I'LL EXPLAIN THE GAME OF BASEBALL TO YOU AND WHY A COACH WOULD PULL A KID THROWING A NO HITTER REGARDLSS OF THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME. OBVIOUSLY BEATING BROSSART WAS NOT A HIGH PRIORITY WITH YOUR TOUGHEST 2 DISTRICT GAMES COMMING THE NEXT 2 DAYS.....THANK GOODNESS YOUR NOT A COACH.... Diamond Dandy
Then why start him? Lay off the caps lock.... BECAUSE IT WAS HIS TIME TO THROW...IT WAS 3 DAYS SINCE HE THREW LAST AND HE HAD COV CATH COMMING UP IN 3 MORE DAYS SO I ASSUME COACH ROESEL DIDN'T WANT TO SIT HIM FOR 7 DAYS. TURNED OUT TO BE AN EXCELLENT MOVE BECAUSE MACE BEAT COV CATH 2-1 WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY A MORE IMPORNTANT GAME FOR THE RAIDERS. GUESS HE COULD HAVE STAYED IN AND FINISHED YOU GUYS OFF....YOU DIDN,T HIM HIM THRU 5 INNINGS, NO REASON TO BELIEVE YOU WOULD HAVE DONE ANY BETTER AGAINST HIM THE LAS 2 INNINGS. AND YOU SCORED ZERO RUNS AND ZERO HITS OFF OF MACE & THE SOPHMORE WHO CAME IN AND SHUT YOU DOWN AFTER YOU HAD A BIG INNING OFF OF TEPPE, WHO I BELIEVE WAS 7TH ON THE DEBTH CHART. GEEZ GUYS ...GIVE IT A REST....IT WAS A PRACTICE GAME AS FAR AS THE RAIDERS WERE CONCERNED.

I believe that was striker's first response about the game, so maybe you need to give it a break. You're probably going to get this thread closed, because you can't let go of a "practice game," and thats a shame. If Ryle was so spectacular, what happened the year before when the game last 5 innings?

GLORY DAYS BUDDY I'm sorry, you are the one who is continually harping on the game. I'm sorry if this is a website dedicated to high school sports, and it seems awfully contradictory to me that one would criticize about "glory days" when he constantly posts about Ryle High School baseball. It might help to grow a little thicker skin. I don't want to see this thread closed, so if you would like to continue, you are more than welcome to send me a PM. Also, please refrain from ALL CAPS!!!
