Looks like they can take place but only after all awards are presented with both teams on their own sidelines.

 

From the KHSAA:

 

After the presentation of awards, teams may THEN proceed to post game handshakes, pictures, prayers, meetings, etc.

All team meetings, pep talks, prayers, huddles, etc. will be AFTER the trophy presentations. We hope for and expect your cooperation.

KHSAA handshake rule seems like something thrown together by the NCAA.

Just curious what the penalty is for accidentally shaking the lineman's hand across from you when the horn sounds.

 

You know to say "that was a war stud", "great game"," you are a real bad ", "sorry about that chop block", "sorry about the leg whip"

The big guy in the sweater-vest just doesn't like hand shakes...I think he has made his stance on that pretty clear...

Micromanagement is a poor approach in virtually every situation if you ask me.

Naw. Middle school game tonight at 8ish so I won't be there. College game on Friday so I'll miss that one also. I should be at the Boyle/East game next week at Boyle though. Tonight should be a good one.

That's the point. They are hoping the handshake doesn't happen. And, it quite possible will work. After the game is over, the trophies are presented, and the coaches only have 5 minutes to meet with the players and talk to them I would venture some teams may not think walking across the field to shake hands is possible.
