This one call might keep the 49ers out of the playoffs depending on how the season plays out. I'd say that's a pretty big call.

November 22, 201312 yr You can maybe blame a loss on one call, still a stretch, but to say one call cost you the playoffs is a complete over reaction. If they miss the playoffs it's because they lost multiple games.

You go with the former league employee who expressed the opinion that the officials got it right. The guy made a living as an official and supervisor of officials. What did you think he would say. I'm stunned that a person can watch that video and then say the blow was not to the neck. STUNNED! Where do you see Brooks' shoulder pad hitting Brees if it's not to the neck? As to your contention that the former ref is going to always back the refs - incorrect. He said the refs got the last play of the NE game wrong. I'll ask again since you made a definitive statement saying the rule says that it's only a penalty IF it's the first blow. Where is the wording of that rule?
