Maybe but i thinks it on a vote and im pretty sure the majority of coachs will vote to keep it.(hopefully) :scared:

I would think most would want it out of Mason....

Actually most like it there. :D

Actually the tenth region now has a whole district in Campbell and Kenton Co. When it is their turn to host the regional they can vote to have it at the new arena. The problem has always been seating and having another venue that is big enough to hold it. With the new arena it would be bigger than the fieldhouse. Don't be surprised if it is there in a few years.

The Fieldhouse is a great place to play. They have had it so long because it could hold more. With Montgomery's new gym....I for one would like a change of gyms.... :D

From what I understand, it would be on an alternating basis with Mason and Montgomery. I think that is fair.

Moving it out of Mason would be a big mistake for all of the schools money wise. Why would they mess with the most successful, (Attendance and Money wise) Regional tournament in the state. It is a advantage for Mason but only a slight. Best teams usually win. When Mason had Lofton and gang Mason won, but last year Mason lost in the first round. Big advantage!!!!! Pendleton was the best team and they won. They are alot of local basketball fans including from Ohio that attend this tourney every year. They will not attend at Montgomery. If Mason and Pendleton happen to meet in the finals the fieldhouse will be packed. Montgomery can handled that. Last point, I believe the Region money is split up amoung the eight schools in the Tourney until a threshold is met with the rest going to the non-participating schools. I believe this is meet about every year. These other schools are not going to like not getting their money!!!!!!! Remember, best team wins most of time, so why not have it where it is attended the best in the state!!!!!

Local business people in the area have committed to make up the $ difference ( if there would be one) when it was at Montgomery. Therefore the schools would not get less $$$$. Rotating between the two schools I think is a fair and good idea for all schools.

Geographically its a mistake IMO.

Yes it would be farther for some and closer for others....just the way it is now at the Fieldhouse.

You are correct GS. A construction company in Mt. Sterling (no names mentioned) has said they would make up for the difference in $$ if there is a difference, along with several other Mt. Sterling businesses.

As for the geography thing...it makes no difference. Schools like Bourbon, Clark, and Paris would appreciate the move I'm sure, but those along the AA would not like it much.

So Montgomery is already admitting they may be a difference. GS explain to me why you want to switch and screw up the best tournament in Ky next to the state tourney!!!!

Change is good! At least give the folks at Montgomery a chance! :thumb:

I don't want to screw up...as you put it ...any thing. Who is to say it won't be as good or better at Montgomery Co. I am sure the people in Louisville did not want to give up the State Tourney being there and moved to Lexington....changes happens....sometime better, sometimes not... we will never know it we don't try it.....time will tell.

Just like at Clark County years back when it didn't work, this will happen in Mt. Sterling. Some just can't figure it out when they look at the whole picture.
