1A - Russellvile.. Since I can't vote for my own team, why not pull for a team in your own district, especially since they have a head coach that used to be an assistant coach at your school. A lot of respect for Coach Myers here. Runner-up would be Hazard. Just love the toughness and the way these guys go about there business every year. A class act and team easy to root for.

 

2A - Caldwell Co.. Would like to see a team that beat your own win it all. Makes your team look better..lol.. Plus, this team lost a heart breaker in the finals last year, so, think it'd be great to see them get that sour taste out of there mouths. Runner-up would be Somerset. I like the way they challenge themselves with a tough schedule year in, year out and would be nice to see them finally get a gold ball.

 

3A - Tilghman.. This team has had so much wasted talent over the years, would be nice to see them put all that talent together and show it on the field when it matters. Plus, another team that my team beat, so, again, makes us look better. Runner-up would be S.Warren. Always love to see tough defense and these guys fit that bill to a tee. Plus, it'd be nice to see a new face in the title game.

 

4A - Owensboro.. I know chances aren't great, but, another Mayfield alumni, Joe Prince, is the head coach, so, gotta pull for them. Plus, any team not named Highlands, would be nice to see win one. Nothing against HHS, just like to see someone new take it all. Would be good for Ky FB. Runner-up would be Cov Cath. has to be tough to always live in the shadow of your biggest rival, so, this would be good to see, plus, I love a team that goes out and challenges themselves with a tough schedule.

 

5A - Graves Co.. Another very longshot, but, why not root for your in-county rival? Getting over the BG hump will be a tough task, but, that winning streaks got to end sometime, so, this would be as good as any and if they did happen to pull the upset, I really would like there chances. Runner-up would be B.Green. I've thought all year this was the best team in all of Ky and you have to respect a winning streak like they've been on, so, wouldn't hurt my feelings to see them add another gold ball.

 

6A - Scott Co.. Really, anyone other than Trinity would do, just because it would be good for Ky FB to have more parity and a few new faces taking home the trophy and imo, the Cardinals have been exceptional all year long, but, ridiculed for a weak schedule. Quieten the critics so to speak. Runner-up would be S.Kenton for much the same reasons as I used for Scott Co.. Plus, maybe this would get the rest of NKy off there backs and it'd be entertaining to read all the threads on here about it.

If I can't list my favorite teams:

 

1A) Raceland if I can't choose Beechwood

2A) NCC -NKY team

3A) Central-have always liked them

4A) CCH if I can't choose Highlands-NKY team and well respected rival

5A) BG-love the run they're on and a chance to get the record for consecutive wins

6A) Anybody but Simon Kenton or Trinity (tied with HHS) for state championships

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seriously-my 6A is Simon Kenton which would mean another NKY team, Trinity not possibly pulling ahead of HHS, and UKfan keeping BGP fun during the offseason since I don't really follow other sports and it will be a while before politics forum gets interesting.

1A - Raceland; have a couple of friends over there who have endured the "Fairview Factor" for several years now

2A - Caldwell COunty; would be nice to see a new WKY face hoist a crown

3A - tough one because my team is here, but I'll go with Belfry who seems to have been snakebit in recent years

4A - With no real ties to anyone here I'd have to pick one out of a hat; maybe CovCath

5A - Bowling Green, PP92 just might throw a party

6A - Scott County; central KY/Lexington have been 6A whipping boys for quite a while now

The thread would have been more interesting if you had to pick who you would like to see win it outside of your geographic area of course some like raiderbird are going to pick a team they root for now matter what the instructions are :jump:

 

If I ignore my local favorites it would go like this for me:

 

I would go Bw in 1A, great program and fans who do it the right way in my book

2A The Danville Admirals, yes I realize they were eliminated already but if they were not they would get my vote for the same reasons I picked Bw

3A Belfry, same as above

4A Highlands, they do more with less than anyone in the state and have for eions. Gotta love the way they do things and are time tested. If you look up the word Blue Bloods you will find a picture of a Blue Bird.

5A BG, the Purples, are another program that has been doing it for ever

6A Trinity, the ultimate football program, not the oldest but the most successful. Love'mor hate'm you have no choice but to respect the way they run the ship and the passion of the T fans.
