November 11, 201312 yr Offensive line sucked. Wide Receivers didn't get separation. Gruden play calling on 4th down sucked. Bengals DB's need to learn to turn and find the ball and at least knock it down. Andy sucked. That about sums it up.

In all the Dalton fixated bashing, people don't talk enough about the poor play of the offensive line and the receivers. Those two areas are 50% or more of the reason for Dalton's struggles. And I also agree that Gruden deserves more scrutiny as well. When the Bengals had that 3rd and 3 in OT, I wish Gruden would have called that read option play again. Also, when you get a 2nd and 3 play, run the ball. I would run it 90% of the time in that situation.

So guess what happens on a short drop and Andy doesn't get rid of the ball? He is going to have a rush in his face because of the short drop. Granted the offensive line didn't play great, however how many times did we see Andy start to throw and then decide to pull it back down. He was very indecisive yesterday and when he did decide to throw very inaccurate. 100% of the blame doesn't go on him, however a lot of it does because even when he did have time he was still missing throws.
November 11, 201312 yr As bad as the offense was playing, might have been a chance to put Johnson in to send the message, loud and clear, to Dalton that he isn't Boomer and bad performances won't cut it.

I wish they would have done more short drops and quick passes yesterday. That was when there was some effectiveness on offense. The Ravens were getting to Dalton almost unimpeded all day. He had zero chance to check down because he was into scramble mode.

The Ravens were getting to Dalton almost unimpeded all day. He had zero chance to check down because he was into scramble mode. Most of his drops were not deep drops, the majority of them were 3 step drops which means they were designed to come out quick. Trust me I know 100% of the blame is not on him, however it is not 50/50 either. We have seen with this team to much that this offense goes when he goes. So if he is off, like he was then the offense struggles. Even when he did have time yesterday he was way off. Its crazy how hot and cold he can be from game to game.
