However. Please tell me how Dunbar got away with a home uniform that is not completely white. Black shorts. Isn't that a rule. I know of teams that had to buy new shirts because of the 3 Adidas stripes.

Please tell me what is fare about playing a state final on your own home field. There is no other venue in the state they could have played at. Really. Please

PKs are an incredibly senseless way to determine winners.

 

1) Play the first overtime 8 on 8 (plus keeper).

2) Play the second overtime 8 on 8 without the keeper.

3) Play the third overtime with 2 balls - something, anything other than PKs

 

Determine a winner while playing some semblance of the game you just competed in for 80 minutes.

 

Screw the British and their ignorant rules. If we can improve on something, why not improve upon it?????

2. The shorts do not have to be white. Only tops and socks. Tops may have team and manufacturer logo and numbers not white. Didn't notice the stripes, picture?

3. PKs seem to work for the rest of the world. Comparing free throws in basketball is senseless not anywhere near the same thing.

 

Was a very good game. Dunbar dominated the second half and proved the really wanted this one.

My first time at Dunbar.......great facility....BUT, it would be really nice to see the finals in a "soccer only" facility. There are several around. Even NKU has one, but I realize that having it up here is never going to happen.

 

Both...the stripes referenced were on a uniform that had to be changed before this year.....not in the game tonight.

I wasn't doubting you on the stripes, I just wasn't looking for that. I am not shocked though. The KHSAA has a tendency of saying one thing and doing another when it suits then.

 

I hope the school thinks rushing the field was worth it. They announced they would be fined if they did it I thought.

I totally agree with the first two. Number 3 however...Free throws are exactly the way to compare because they're both senseless ways to decide things. Hockey is the only other sport that does something like this...enough said.

Let me clarify my statement then. I don't equate the two because scoring is already more frequent in basketball and also so are free throws. You don't see nearly as many PKs as you do free throws in basketball.

 

I also don't think they compare because PKs have a keeper and are played after a much longer match.

Wonder if the KHSAA will have the stones to fine Dunbar for allowing their students to come onto the field?

Not sure I follow your logic. So PKs are a better way to settle a soccer match, because they are much less frequent in a soccer match than free throws are in a basketball game? So it's better to decide a match with something that seldom actually occurs in a game?

 

Also, because a soccer match is much longer than a basketball game? Not sure that is true. I've seen some long basketball games. It kind of depends on how you define it.

What basketball games do you watch that have the same amount of constant play time as soccer?

 

I was sitting near some guys that looked official and they seemed to be discussing how there would be a hefty fine. Even if they do though I doubt we lowly fans will hear about it.
