Should be an early exit in the playoffs.

Margin surprises me, as do Barker's numbers.

Posted last week I thought CovCath might be the second best team in NKY, but I didn't expect this kind of score. I may have over estimated Conner a little though based on a early season performance with Simon Kenton.

Barker's numbers happen to the best of the them, especially if playing against a (perhaps) vastly superior team. Unfortunately for him, UK plays a lot of vastly superior teams in the SEC.

UK commitment Barker makes no excuses after CovCath's rout of Conner

COVINGTON — Conner quarterback and University of Kentucky commitment Drew Barker made no excuses for his team, and he didn't try to sugarcoat his own subpar performance after the Cougars lost to Covington Catholic 40-6 Saturday afternoon.

If CovCath hadn't missed a couple extra-point kicks, there would have been a mercy-rule running clock late in the third quarter.

"We just got whupped," Barker said. "Maybe it was a lack of focus, I'm not really sure. It was a tough day. It's mind-boggling."

You want to know how bad the injuries have been this season at CovCath?

The young man who does the films at practice and games (BTW he does a great job in doing them) tripped and fell this week at school, breaking his ankle!:isurrender::isurrender:

With all the stats showing the results of this victory for CovCath, what you can't read, is the reason because if you had attended the game, it was easy to see and that was the play of both the "O-Line" and "D-Line" of CovCath.

The O-line opened up holes Saturday that even TOG could have run through, and while Drew Barker was harassed by CovCath D-line, Ben Dressman had more than enough time to throw the ball. These players I would like to honor: Seniors Pat Connaughton, Nick Kathman, Alec Kaelin, and Christian Stewart, Juniors Joe Ledonne, Sam Murrer and Jacob Roth and Sophomore Nathan Baute.

The D-line just made the day miserable for Barker and A. Way and these young men did themselves proud: Senior Matt Miller, Juniors Nate Bailey and Luke Foertsch, Sophomores Jake Stein and Brody Thoreson!

It was an outstanding day you all had and year too but the job isn't finished at all, so it's back to work, as a new season starts Monday and it's time to push yourself even harder!

This does sum it all up

Just unbelievable...sad to hear...but almost non-believable.:thumb:

I hope the young film man is ok

Drew summed it up pretty well.

100% spot on , TOG.

Thanks for fixing the link and for the spot on but gee.....a like would have been even nicer :clap:as those are like gold on BGP's from you.:thumb:

Tell Drew there will always be days like Saturday but true stars, just use those days to motivate themselves to become even better and I am sure he will!

Glad to see Drew handling it like the way he did. Shows real maturity. Good job Drew!

CovCath will need Burchell healthy for the game at JC.

Good DL and ILB play a must to stop that belly series.

Your spot on there. JC will be tough...Burchell will be needed to stuff the middle.
