4 seed Phelps travels to Raceland this weekend to take on the District 7 Champion, 1. seed Raceland.

I believe that this game will be played on Saturday afternoon at 12 pm. Does Phelps have any chance at all in this 4/1 seed matchup ? I mean absolutely no disrespect to Phelps at all but this 1st round of playoffs is why I am in favor of just three teams advancing from a district, with each district champion rewarded with a first round bye. That thread has been discussed in every way it could be on bgp and I'm not starting another one.

So, I will say that I look for a running clock and very possibly in the 1st half.

I am certain coach T.J. Maynard will do all he can to hold the score down after he gets it to a running clock. Probably before.

Raceland 56

Phelps 0

Being this one is at noon, I might be able to take this one in.

It depends on what happens in the Martins Ferry and Bellaire game today.

Depending on the result Newark Catholic could get a home playoff game.

I could catch the Raceland 66-0 win over Phelps and still make it back to Newark to watch the Green Wave play.

NCF, it's a shame that you don't like high school football. :D :thumb:

Why are they playing on Saturday?

Why are they playing on Saturday?

Not sure yet, but it is probably because the Raceland Volleyball team will be playing Friday in the Sweet 16 in Louisville. Plus, Phelps has a a long way to travel.

Seeing the Rams play so much this season will certainly make you a Ram Fan.

I hope you can make it.

Just cleared with Coach Maynard, the game is Friday night.

Just cleared with Coach Maynard' date=' the game is Friday night.[/quote']

Hahaha, I just spoke to him and was ready to post this but you beat me to it.

Clock running and Phelps in a hurry to get home are my predictions in this one.

Raceland names the score. I know Coach Maynard would never maliciously run up the score but if they can't stop our freshman, you can't blame them for wanting to score.

Exactly right, those kids have bee through every workout, every practice and getting their butts kicked around in practice every day. A coach (and I know that Maynard will) can do all they can to hold the score down but the one thing that you can't do is tell a kid not to try when he's in the game.
