Report: 'Pacman' threatened N.Y. Jets' David Nelson

Featured Replies

I always remember a quote from the late, great Jack "the assassin" Tatum, " I like to think of my hits as borderline felonious assault."

No, Nelson didn't feel that way....

“I wouldn’t say it was a threat,” Nelson said, via Matt Ehalt of ESPNNewYork.com. “I’m not going to say that he threatened me or anything like that. He did say some stuff on the field, but I wouldn’t take it as a threat.

We all like to un-ring the bell sometimes.

Separate issue.

Again, I said perceive (and apparently Nelson thought the same).

To answer your question, the comment in bold.

Maybe he wanted to come get him, so they could go out for a soda? I know I've said a lot worse to folks on the field.

The reason this is a so called big deal is it was New York media. The game was a horrible display by the Jets. Rex said the only thing a coach can say when you get beat by 40. I will paraphrase "That was ugly, we got beat in all phases of the game, thank God it only counts as one loss". They had to write something. If ths would have happened against, let's say the Titans, we would not have heard a thing.

Now if Aaron Hernandez had said it, you better run and hide.
