Soooo....how does this district turn out now? 3 way tie?

I think Middlesboro has the tie breaker wrapped up...If Danville beats Frankfort they will have enough tie breaker points to get 2nd other wise Somerset will get 2nd.

I didn't think wins vs. the other two teams count in the event of the three way tie breaker?

On a separate note wireman made me do give a belly laugh.

They don't only wins versus top 4 opponents count...didn't think I said that they did?

I mis-read... I thought you were implying that if Danville beat Frankfort then it would help Middlesboro wrap it up.. my apologies

Playoff Seeding implications:

If Middlesboro wins, they win district. 2nd goes to Danville if they beat Frankfort or Somerset if Danville doesn't.

If Somerset wins and Danville (vs LCA) wins, Middlesboro probably wins the district on tie-breaker.

If Somerset wins and Danville loses Somerset wins district.

Tie Breaker Current Points: coming into Friday

Somerset 12 (Southwestern 1, Glasgow 7, Letcher 4) Possible 5 more points, 3-4 points probable

Danville 9 (Franklin Simpson 4, Green Co 4, Campbellsville 1) Beating Frankfort would add 7...5 more points possible, 2-3 probable

Middlesboro 18 (Pineville 6, Bell 5, Harlan 1, Union Virginia 6) Possible 8 more points, 3-4 point probable

Danville can win district IF 1) they beat Frankfort 2) and there opponents wins win more games the last two weeks than Middlesboro's opponents do

IF Danville beats Frankfort there is a lot of crazy math to be added up to see who gets #1 seed

This goes to prove Somerset is staring down the wrong end of the strength of schedule double edged sword.

SOS certainly can make your team better and better prepared to win a District...

.... In this case it cost Somerset critical injuries and lack of non-district wins needed for a tie-breaker. As insult to injury. One of their non-district wins was over possibly the best 1 win team in the entire State Southwestern who also took it on the chin since they played a grueling slate and suffered a ton of injuries as well.

No ones fault but Somerset's, if they come out with the same energy as they did tonight I'd like their chances against Danville. But they didn't get it done against Danville and will be LUCKY to get a #2 seed and at least 1 home game.
