Coaches wearing whistles during a game

I recently noticed a Coach wearing a whistle during a game and thought this was dangerous because you could unintentionally blow it (force of habit). Has anything like this ever happened? Is is within the rules for a coach to wear a whistle during a game? And if you ever have seen something like this, what was the outcome?

I have never seen a coach wearing a whistle. I have, however, been to a game (albeit many moons ago), where a fan in the stands had one. I don't remember if they were asked to leave or not...but, the whistle was confiscated.

I've seen it, the whistle was used in pre-game warm ups and the coaches left it on, maybe just forgot to take it off.

Certainly legal to wear one during the game. I have no idea why a coach would though because if you blow it, things are going to get slippery pretty fast.

I've seen it happen. Coach accidentally blew his whistle. Bad idea.

I have always worn my whistle during football games. It helps me in pregame organization and doubles for holding my play sheets during the game.
