This is a free country RamCat and I believe in free speech and your opinions of how we are coached and the opinions on play calling is duly noted. Just a side bar, complaining fans do nothing but destroy morale and cause problems that do not need to exist. I love Coach Hoof but to say Coach Maynard doesn't have the connection to the school in order to "really" coach at Raceland is absurd. Again, you are free to voice your opinion but you have definitely baffled me with your continued barrage of our coaches. Also, this team is talented but 2006, 07, 08 would be ahead of this squad talent wise. Going back, there are teams in the 80's and a couple in the 90's that only had their runs cut short by the Beechwood Tigers that were winning about 7 Championships in a row, that were more talented than this team. Our schemes and game plans make this team good along with good players.

No, but I'm entitled to my opinion, I don't have to sit back and sugar coat everything like the rest of you. I'm not the only fan out here questioning things, I'm just one of the few who will voice their concerns. I've also noticed that nobody will answer my questions about how many toss up games Raceland has won since Maynard took over.

 

Obviously whomever is doing the game planning isn't getting it done. Goble gashed Raceland's defense for 162 yards, most of those between the tackles. I don't think anything I am saying is way out in left field.

Vanderhoof elevated this program to heights it had never experienced and I just feel like it has taken two steps back since he left. Don't be juvenile. I'm only asking where your vast knowledge is coming from. When you speak of winning toss up games, check your history of Coach Ross and Coach Hoof, too. I have been witness to coaching plans that failed in both regimes. You can't blame Goble running all over us on coaching. You think we don't know what LC does???? They executed their game plan and we didn't. I believe offensively, we should've been up 21-0 early in the second quarter but a penalty and a fumble and now it's 8-7. That is where momentum changed. That has nothing to do with coaching. That is execution, my friend.

Coach Hoof was on the verge of being fired in the early 2000's because he had a lack of quality coaches. John Stephens was instrumental in helping hire quality coaches that include our current coaches. So, you can't say that Coach Hoof did all of that building up of the program on his own. Until Mr. Stephens was able to get coaches that had any experience and knew football to help, Raceland had dropped a little and many people were saying they wished Coach Ross was back. The only difference in the 2 staffs is that Salmons is calling the plays. And I am telling you, not my opinion but fact, check out the offensive output and you can't blame coaches. Great post doc. I agree with another that this team is loaded with talent, probably more overall talent that any Raceland team ever. I will say that the talk of "best ever" may have these kids feeling entitled. I don't know bc I am not there every day in practice, every game, don't personally know the kids to get a read on it. I do know that it is not the head coach or anyone on the coaching staff. As said before, anytime a team (any team) doesn't play up to their ability then the coach is blamed. I have had varsity coaches in other sports in my family and know that all too well. I have coached youth sports, not close to this level and guess what ? It's the same thing.

I do know that whoever needs to on this team or close to needs to reach down, kick themselves in the butt if needed and get things turned around. Each player - look at yourself in the mirror and you know if you gave 100% on every play. A player can lie to others, you cannot lie to yourself.

I have every confidence that this team will get things worked out. This loss is not the end of the season. Like I said earlier, maybe a Wake Up call was needed.

Rams, right now you have as much talent than any Raceland team ever. You Are NOT the best team in school history. There is a difference.

Two of the slowest teams I have watched this year. Rams have a big line but they don't move very well at all. Reminds me of Fairview's line from last year. I just can't see how Raceland is one of the best teams in the east. If that is the case then the east is weaker than I thought.
