Lawrence had a 26 - 12 lead with around 9 min. to go in the 3rd Qtr.. Raceland came storming back and from the reports that I had should have won.

The Rams came out flat, I was told playing uninspired. Raceland came back strong but t/o's, poor play for around 2 1/2 qtrs., poor special teams play, not with the overall emotion that they usually play with.

 

I AM NOT trying to take anything away from LC, The Bulldogs outplayed, outhustled and played like they wanted it more. Congrats to the Bulldogs, you have a very tough, well coached team and play hard. LCHS Deserved to win this one. Good Luck the rest of the way out....win em' all Dawgs.

NCF, I don't know but this may be what they need. I am not one that ever says a loss is a good thing but maybe it will wake some people / players up. A player Cannot come out flat, no emotion and at times looking like they don't know what a football is and expect to win.

This Raceland team is loaded, very good but they have to go out and play / prove it.

 

 

BTW, The criticism that I posted came from a good friend, one that I trust fully and knows football, was an excellent player himself. He loves the Rams as I do....was just being honest, brutally honest.

Hopefully both teams came out of it without any injuries.

Rams......Pick yourself up, learn from the loss. Put it behind you and get ready for a new start on Monday.

This team has been playing up and down for weeks. They scored 35 points in the second against Coal Grove and almost managed to give that game away. I had a bad feeling about this game before kickoff, but we came out on offense and took it straight down the field, but I was fooled. The fumble return for a TD was huge, I don't think we ever regained any kind of composure after that. I know Beach was out and that's a big cog that is missing, but if you don't let CG back in the game last week, he never gets thrown out of the game.

 

If you're going to run a spread offense, you have to have the intestinal fortitude to throw the ball. Every time Elkins throws an interception, Salmons shuts the passing game down, Messer and Vance are too good of alto stand out on the edge with their hands on their hips. This team has been called one of the best teams ever, but it's more like one of the most talented ever, to have a great team, you have to have great coaches.

 

I'm so frustrated right now!! I also understand that I will be ridiculed for speaking what I believe to be the truth.

Sometimes a kick in the teeth is the best thing that can happen to a team. I think it's safe to say that the coach of the team I follow believes that to be true.

 

Remember the feeling, and do everything you can to not allow it to happen again.

Like already posted, Rams score on their first series. #1 is a special player, it was nice to see him move as well as he did after that big hit he took last week. On the first point after kick, the kicker really hit a nice one. This has been one of the weaknesses I have noticed for the Rams.

In looking at the Roster it appears Lawrence County is playing an awful lot of younger players( Freshmen and Sophomores)

 

Question time(Sorry but this is me being me)

 

#40 for the Dawgs in my programs is Warren Price a 6-0-215 pound Junior. He is listed as a LB, but he is playing DT. Has this been the case all season long? Is he listed incorrectly in the roster that the Ashland newspaper has in the preview(Another awesome preview by them)

 

#74 Johnson,How did he look in this one? Kind of hard to really see the work of the linemen while watching online.

 

The 2nd drive for the Rams really hurt them. A touchdown by the freshman RB called back on a hold and then #1 later dropping a pass. I had to rewind that to make sure it really happened.

With the score tied 7-7 didn't Raceland fumble going into the end zone and Lawrence Co return it 99 yards? What a big turnaround right before the half.

Three times (all three drives to start the game) the Rams were, I believe in the Redzone and only came away, with seven points. Leading. 7-0 the Rams fumble the ball and #11(who had looked very good all game long) scoops up a fumble and goes 95-yards to score. The 2pt conversion put the Dawgs up by a point. The slow start against a good team already missing a big part of the offense had to be a killer for the Rams. It's hard to work that hard and come up short and then to fall behind makes it even more difficult.
