Curious why you are ok with McCracken but not Henderson? That loss to PT is not a good one. PT just isn't very good.

 

I haven't seen any of the teams in question (including PT). I won't argue whether PT is good or not, but one thing is for sure McCracken and Henderson will have a common opponent in PT after this weekend. Plus unlike BG/Trinity these two play each other, which will end the debate (at least for a night).

 

I do like McCracken's 1 pt loss to Mayfield.

 

I also do not like Henderson County's 4 pt win over Christian County (who got thumped by Fort Campbell and beat by Caldwell).

 

Again I don't know the detail of these games, perhaps late scores made these games closer than they appear. I admit that I could be 100% wrong here. Certainly not taking a shot at Henderson County. Unlike VOR I don't know how much to read in to the CC score/game.

Henderson/Christian is a rivalry game and usually, margins are tossed in rivalry games. Henderson also played without a starter or two if I'm not mistaken.

 

Henderson beat Reitz, who beat Tilghman, who beat McCracken if you want to play those kind of games.

I told you exactly what I based it on and I even indicated that I might be drawing wrong conclusions from simply scores; however, maybe the following will be more acceptable to you.

 

I will take McCracken over Henderson to be ranked in the BGP top 10. Henderson needs to be more consistent on defense and not give up the big play. On offense they are still adjusting to the spread after years of running the veer. :jump:

Henderson has a solid defense, but, no offense, at least not against quality opponents and this year, Christian Co isn't very good. If I'm not mistaken, didn't OB Catholic shut out Henderson 21-0 in a scrimmage? I know it's just a scrimmage, but, between that, the Christian game and the Cov Cath game, I think it's pretty telling. There D will keep them in some games, but, overall, just a slightly better than average 6A team.

 

As far as McCracken goes, I fully expected them to improve as the year went on. They're big, physical, have big receivers and a QB and RB that are explosive athletes. There downfall is there kicking game. Had they had a decent kicker, they'd be sitting at 4-0 instead of 2-2. There D is good, not great, but, plenty good enough to keep them in games with there explosive offense.
