Has anyone seen this kid play? I know he is a fullback for Mason County and that Mason County is 3-0 with wins over Boyd County, Rowan County and Harrison County. All 4A schools.

 

I'm told he has touchdown runs of 26, 31, 52, 52, and 63 yards all from the fullback position. I was also told that he is a junior and that this is his first year playing at Mason County.

 

Has anyone seen him play and what else can you tell me about him?

fast, slippery. quick. runs hard and runs downhill. he plays fullback it seems because he blocks well . but from what I've heard/seen they love to use him as a change of pace from the bruiser Nelson.

When I heard about those td runs he has from the fullback position I was amazed. What kind of size does he have?

not sure. I've only seen him a few times. not exceptional. a stocky Darren sproles type maybe??

Not really stocky. If I had to guess I'd say 5"10 and 180 or so. Just a guess. Nelson is the one who LOOKS like a fullback and Hill LOOKS like a tailback.

 

One thing's for sure. He's having a breakout season so far.

Although last time a BGPer from your neck of the woods (that I know of) came up to Maysville for a game, his car was wrecked by someone with no insurance as he was driving home.

Rico Hill came to Mason County last year as a Soph......but the season had already started an it was to late to begin playing. I am wanting to say he came in from Tenn. But I am not certain on this. Regardless...he is a stud and along side Nelson, the two make a great backfield for the Royals. Coach Buchanan an his staff does an excellent job with the play calling for each one.

I had to respond.... been such a long time since I have been called "smart"!

 

Rico has been a great addition to our team. Very fast, quick, and strong. He is also a great guy in the lockerroom. Our kids really like him. He could be a good tailback, but we have one there already that is very good and he is comfortable there (Nelson). And, Rico works at fullback because he does block well and he is strong. His quickness and speed make him a threat also as a ball carrier. We hope as the season progresses they will continue to complement each other, along with an effective passing game and improving offensive line.
